Hi Dave, also worth getting a rubber mat / liner for the trunk, then the carpet won’t get damaged with groceries and stuff. I’d say those Hakkapeliittas are a bit overkill for Connecticut - a normal winter tire is nearly as good but much better on dry roads. It’s really meant for Canada or Scandinavia where you’re only driving on snow or ice.

We head up to VT ski country quite a bit in the winter where the snow can fly pretty strongly

@ nice. I’ve driven in the European Alps a lot on normal winter tires in all conditions, and they have always worked well, on both 4-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive.

Thank you for this cool video of the mamacan. I have HUD on my Macan EV and I just love it ! But taste and color is a personal choice, so if Katy is happy like that that’s perfect. On the HUD, what I like is to have the power meter (showing regen and power use), speedo and nav (with Porsche nav). The nav is AR directly on the road it is very difficult to miss a turn with it !

The dual zone climate looks very functional. The 4 zone is a $500 upgrade and I cannot help but wonder if it's really doing much more considering they do not even add B pillar vents. The climate airflow modes of Soft or Strong are awesome in combination with auto functionality.

I have a Model S and Panamera and let me tell you Porsche knows how to make an interior of extremely top quality. Tesla everything is "meh" quality, although it is more fun off the line. My Panamera outperforms the Model S when not driving in a straight line also. There is a likelihood I will consider a Taycan down the road (depreciated 50%+ I hope) when NACS support is actually out, not coming soon.

Makes sense because the route planning has been super quick all the time. Having said this, I see one downside here. Correct me if I am wrong, but since the calculations for route planning being done in the cloud, the cars ability to calculate route planning in a timely manner are greatly slowed when you lose cell service.

You mentioned that having the fast charging port on the rear driver's side will make it easier to use Tesla superchargers, but I suspect that also having that second, Level 2 port on the rear passenger side was partly to make it easy to use curbside charging.

I’m not sure but I think a spoiler over the rear window would help to keep the glass a little cleaner. Most cars create a vacuum in the rear and this would help but not eliminate it from getting dirty.

Yes and if they designed it properly a spoiler can hide the rear screen wiper like happens in a Range Rover

With my 2024 Model S, I just need to stand behind the rear of the car for 3 seconds, and that makes my trunk open. The car senses the bluetooth signal from my phone which is in my pocket. I don't need to waive my foot below the car.

People spend money on what they want and it doesn’t always need to be logical on paper. That interior is 1000% better than the Model Y. Maybe that’s worth the extra money to her and if she has the money to spend then who cares. It’s so funny because when a KZbinr buys a McLaren for 400,000 nobody is like omg… a Plaid model S is faster to 60 and one 1/4 the cost what a waste of money. What makes something valuable is only based on what someone is willing to pay for it. She’s willing to pay for that and good for her! I hope she enjoys her new car.

Those headlights being so low are a really dumb idea for cold climates where it snows. The snow quickly collects on that indent and the light is blocked. Pretty dangerous.
