GREAT video on a horrible UI UX. I have a Macan EV on order, replacing my Macan GTS so I'm glad you made this video so I see how everything is done. (VW/Audi/Porsche should take notes from Tesla and Rivian - their UI software is so good and their phone app just kills Porsche Connect. I let mine expire a year after I bought my GTS and it's evidently still bad per my neighbor who took delivery of their Macan EV. This is really kludge).

I don’t know what issues your neighbor is having but from every review I’ve seen they say it’s great. The route planning is one of the best they have used Porsche switching to android automotive for the base to build the system on was a great change. It also has Wi-Fi hotspot,web browser that you can download from the App Store to stream all sorts of services.

@@ryansherman4556 I received the full walk-thru of the new Android Auto system at my Dealer (Porsche of Littleton). It's kludgy. Everything is buried in a menu and there are 2 halves to the system - the android auto half which has a few cute apps, and the Porsche settings which deal with the car. It's just a bad UX (user experience). And the Porsche Connect app on the phone side cannot do half of what it should be capable of. Again - see Rivian and Tesla - dashcams through every camera observing all possible angles, with video monitoring streaming directly to your phone, dog mode for cooling the car with pets (or children), deep customization. And very user friendly, graphically. I spent time with the Porsche Connect iPhone app as well as the Rivian and it's not even close. The Macan EV lets you change the color of your interior LEDS and re-arrange your icons. That's about it. And I'm a Macan GTS owner. No hate for Porsche, they're just so far behind the curve.

@ this is not the same ui in tycan or current Porsche. Learn about the system. It has the same skin but different software. Watch some actual reviews on this system and the Macan 4. Also just because it doesn’t have dog mode or built in dash cam doesn’t make it a bad system. That’s personal preference. The route planning is way ahead of Rivian and Tesla.

@@ryansherman4556 You're not reading my words. Neither the Android Auto in the Macan EV nor the phone app has the capability of other EV's. Dog mode and Sentry Mode, and all-camera buffer while driving are just a few of many. I've discussed it at length with the sales staff at my dealer after they let me borrow the Macan 4 in Aventurine and Chalk for a weekend. (advanced Route planning? Come on, man. I haven't road tripped in 20 years. Navigation and anything regarding routing is something I never use on cars. I know my city inside and out.) I have a build slot for a Feb delivery of a 4s and I'm having them hold it for now (for several reasons regarding the car - not just the head unit). You're talking to someone who hours of experience in a Rivian, Tesla and Macan EV. I could tell you just about everything about each system.

I found it: pressing the rear window button turns on the electric heating of the rear window, mirrors, and windshield, all together passionately. 🤷‍♂

What is an instance that you would need to do a PCM reset using the volume button versus reset to factory settings in the PCM?

Volume button reset would be if the screen freezes or goes dark especially while driving. Factory reset will clear all of your settings.

Nope. The native navigation is connected to google though

Google Maps will appear in the instrument cluster if you use Android Auto and set a destination.
