Good video. I’ve had these smart plugs for about 5 years and have just got a new Wi-Fi hub so I had to log them in again and wasn’t sure of all the steps but after watching your video it made it easy. One thing I would add though is that you need to do reset on the plug to clear the old data, but it will tell you this in the Kasa app

I'm really not sure how this controls the plug from anywhere if you are using your home wifi to connect it all and then you go outside of your network to control...

Ypu can use ZeroTier tho.... its free and you can add 25 devices.

I just bought this tplink smart wifi plug but found out you need to download an app on smart phone. I have an iphone 5c but no room on it and I dont have any apps on it to uninstall. so do you know of a way around this? I have a Lenovo ideapad that uses apps but cant find the kasa app for it.

Not that I’m aware of. I just use the iPhone app. You may want to see if there’s an app in the Windows store.
