All my stuff works well on the home network. I have internet and wifi working fine. Both 2.4 and 5.0 are working fine. "Add a device" doesn't work. When on the Add a Smart Plug page, I press Smart Plug/Lite, all I get is a message that says "No Internet .. Make sure that your router is functioning properly and that you have a strong signal" and a green RESCAN button that doesn't do anything.
@SmartHomeMojo4 жыл бұрын
I believe all smart plugs connect to the 2.4GHz network, not 5.0. Make sure you are connecting to the 2.4 network. Let me know if that worked.

Does this plug offer energy consumption monitoring via the alexa app or the kasa app?
@SmartHomeMojo5 жыл бұрын
In the Kasa app you can see runtime of the plug or bulb. It breaks runtime down by past 30 days, past 7 days and also current hours within the last 24 hours. This Kasa plug does not show energy consumption, but the Kasa light bulbs do.

Sir. That's good video very detail And very comprehensive. And i just bought one. But Question. How to use smart plug to control with other electric stuff. Like coffee maker, teakettle, Ricemaker, humidifier thing like that. It look like smart plug only work on things like light (No operation needed stuff) Cause other stuff when you plug in or even turn on you need press some button or switch otherwise just turn on and no running. Please give me some idea so smart plug can be use more efficient
@SmartHomeMojo4 жыл бұрын
Great question. Appliances either have mechanical or electric switches. Mechanical switches are those that actually have a physical switch (called either a toggle or rocker switch) that you have to flip from one side to the other. An example would be a traditional light switch on the wall. Electrical switches have nothing to toggle but looks more like a button you push. An electrical switch has no "on" or "off" position like a mechanical switch. Typically, all the appliances that have a mechanical switch can be controlled using smart technology. I hope that helped.

Great question. Smart plugs should be able to turn on and off your TV, but some TV's might still require you to hit the ON button on your TV remote. What type of smart plug are you using for the TV?

Can you control these away from home ?
@SmartHomeMojo4 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's one of the main benefits here of the Nest Thermostat. You can control them on smartphones and tablets either in or out of your home. The App is very easy to setup and I use the App about 95% of the time to manage and control the Nest Thermostat.

@SmartHomeMojo3 жыл бұрын
You can use the Amazon Alexa app on your smartphone to control them while you're away from the house. Is that what you meant or are you looking for another technology to control lights while away from home?

@@MisterUrbanWorld I am not aware of another method/solution to control these particular smart plugs, but let me do some research.
@gtorres17193 жыл бұрын
Yes, just use the Kasa app, it allows you to toggle your smart plug on and off no matter where ever you are. Your phone doesn't have to be connected to the same wifi. You can be a thousand miles away and it will work. I just tried it with my 5G phone with WIFI. As long as you have WIFI in your house you are 👍.
@MisterUrbanWorld3 жыл бұрын
@@gtorres1719 You're 100% correct. I just tested out a kasa smart plug, and it worked within app. No hub required. Now i'm waiting for a dimmable smart bulb to arrive. Fingers crossed for that. Off topic but nice 1 oz coin in your photo lol.

Sometimes the plugs setup and are recognized by wifi easy or sometimes you have to setup manually and possibly scan a QR code, etc.. Which plug are you trying to setup? Remember, always connect to a 2.4Ghz wireless network, not 5G.

Can you login to your Kasa account and toggle the lights on and off from a computer?
@SmartHomeMojo4 жыл бұрын
I've never tried from computer, always the Kasa App on my smartphone. At a quick glance, there are two Apps for PC (Win) that I saw that would allow you to do that. Control for Kasa Smart ($4.99) and TP-Link Smart Plug Utility ($.99) looks like they both can control Kasa smart devices from PC.
