***IMPORTANT!***: Make sure that VM's main output (Voicemeeter VAIO) is set as your default recording and playback devices. ALSO: if you followed the video, and are not able to hear anything, guess what? You did it wrong! See below for common fixes :) ✔️ Check your settings including output. Set your headphones / sound card as the hardware output (A1). ✔️ Make sure Voicemeeter VAIO (B1) is set as your default playback and recording device in the windows Sound Control Panel. ✔️ Make sure any channel you want outputing to your headphones (A1) is active (green). ✔️ If in doubt or if you updated W10 recently. Try uninstalling and reinstalling Voicemeeter (always restart after both).

When I select WDM or MME I can't get audio from my computer through my headphones. I select KS and it works but then there is a delay from my microphone when I hear myself speak (which is very annoying), and KS is the only option for hearing my PC. I have no clue what to do and any help would be appreciated. I have a virtual sound card which is USB because my headphone/mic jacks cause interference (a hissing noise) when trying to record my mic through those ports. Thanks.
@NeroTheHero5 жыл бұрын
Sounds like an interesting set up! ❓Let's start with VM. Is it set as your default playback AND recording device? ❓Did you restart after the initial install? ❓Have you tried re-installing? ❓Would you also mind providing the make and model of the sound card itself? ❓Are you selecting the USB sound card as the hardware output (A1)? ❓Does your PC only have one 3.5mm audio jack? Or is there another one you can try? If so, what is the result? ❓Have you tried using a different USB port? ❓What OS do you have currently? Have you updated recently? ⚠️The delay with KS is most likely latency from the fact that the audio has to pass thru an additional device (the USB sound card) as opposed to delivering it straight to your headphones. I'm not home right now, but if you can work on getting me as much info as possible, the better I can help ya :D

If your friends are hearing all your audio, then that means the source you selected as the mic is also grabbing the desktop audio. Check your settings, and make sure the Desktop audio input does NOT have B1 active.

Okay so I'm stumped here... I'm trying to setup a Sennheiser GSX 1000 with Voicemeeter. Upon first plug in I found a hardware out that worked as it was previously just to my old Logitech headset, everything seemed to be good. After a little bit it seemed that something glitched and audio was stuck on 7.1 surround, then the hardware out no longer worked and I'm not getting any audio with the mix amp plugged in. Any suggestions?
@NeroTheHero6 жыл бұрын
Hey there! That's very strange indeed, I've heard of weird glitches happening, but nothing like this exactly. Did you restart after installing VM? Not restarting has been known to cause issues. Sometimes the audio drivers simply don't take to the system, even if installed proper and a reinstall usually fixes it for me. Also did you make sure to set VM Input as your default recording source, and VM Output as your playback?

Double check your settings. What is the mic input for Skype? It should be either Voicemeeter VAIO (B1) or Voicemeeter Aux (B2). If for example you used B1, you want to make sure that B2 is what's going to your recording software. I'm unfortunately not familiar with Amolto as I use Audacity to record all my auido. But you may want to double check the inputs for that as well.

Hello thnks for the tuto. I think.one point is missing in this configuration with Discord : selection of B2 output channel for Voicemeeter microphone channel1, either you will not be able to speak with Discord user as B2 channel is used as Discord microphone input channel. For Skype mucrophone input channel setting seems not correct : Voicemeter B1 channel is selected instead of B2 channel and in that case The Skype user will hear himself. Is it correct for you?
@NeroTheHero6 жыл бұрын
william halimi Correct. Thank for pointing that out! I forgot to clarify that I usually have my discord set to B2 as output just as a preference. So as to have an additional layer of isolation if I so desire. Ticking B2 while in a call will allow my friends to hear me. Whereas B1 defaults to my local recording software. Setting your Skype and discord outputs to VM Vaio (B1) does indeed ensure that you can be heard during a call. Alternatively, to you can set your recording software to look for Aux Vaio (B2) by default. There's a few ways to set up your stuff, I should have changed that to B1 for the video to avoid confusion. Good eye!

Unfortunately this guide is for Banana and not Potato. I did notice that there's a new version. I'll have to make an updated guide. I don't have any experience with it however as of yet. In Banana: Set the Skype input to be VoiceMeeter Output (B1). Once that is set, all you need to do is tick B1 for any source you want to come thru to Skype. @NeroTheHero4 жыл бұрын
You can really do either or... VoiceMeeter Output = B1 Voicemeeter AUX Output = B2 If you're hearing feedback / echo it means you have the output assigned as the input or vice versa. If you want your input to be VM Output (B1) set it as input. Output can be either one of the audio cables I mentioned (which I highly recommend) or you can assign it to the default communication device which you should have assigned in the Sound Control Panel.

If EVER in doubt, hop on a call with your friends, and record a sample in Audacity to listen back to. Hope that helps... now go forth and become legend! :D

PinkUnicorn Gaming It sounds like you have the right settings, so go back and triple check that they are correct. If it's still not working the only other thing I can suggest is that you reinstall the drivers and restart. Are you on the most recent version of Windows? Hey there! The only thing I can really suggest is to double and triple check your settings. Also if the assigned device is not out putting properly in discord. It's very very very possible that the audio drivers need to get re-installed. I had this happen just the other day. I had my output device assigned to the Primary Virtual Cable Output, but nothing was coming through on the proper channel. Also, make sure whichever device you have set as the output for Discord has A1 ticked, which (if you followed this video) should be outputting to your speakers. That re-install usually does the trick, especially after a Windows update.... Best of luck to you!

Ethan I Since it's your default playback all desktop audio should be coming through VM OUT (if you have it set up correctly). As far as audio coming from discord or Skype, the best way to isolate that is to simply set the output device as one of the cable outputs within the program in question.

That's a super good question, I actually had to tinker with VM to find an answer for ya: If you assign one of your Hardware OUTPUTs to a Virtual Audio Cable (A3 for example) ... Then under Hardware INPUT 1 (which should be your physical mic) tick A3 so that way the compressed audio can be isolated specifically to that channel as an output, while still allowing you to have a "main mix" using Voicemeeter VAIO (B1) / AUX VAIO (B2). Then, in discord you want to assign your INPUT device as the same VAC that you assigned to A3. ....and that should do it! Hope that's not too complicated.

@NeroTheHero5 жыл бұрын
You can hear audio which is good, that means you are on the right track. Here's some general troubleshooting tips that hopefully will help. 1. Make sure that you set the mic as the hardware input (the drop down menu on the far left side of the mixer UI. 2. Make sure that Voicemeeter VAIO is your default audio device in the audio control panel. This is represented by B1 in the mixer. 3. Make sure that B1 is ticked and active on the mic input. This is an important step as it tells VM which audio to allow to pass through and be captured / heard. Note: It's very possible that you set everything up correctly. Sometimes Windows just doesn't play well with VM and things can sometimes get borked. So if nothing else works, try to uninstall the audio driver (restart) reinstall the audio driver, (restart again). Hope this helps ... If you run into any problems, don't hesitate to comment again. Best of luck!

Setting it as default in the control panel is more of a fail safe so all recording / communication applications will know to look for VM as an input / Output. Robotic / Shitty sounding audio is usually a sign of one of two things: 1) Your audio stream is being corrupted. Try restarting VM, or switching between WDM, KS, MME. Or B) VM got borked while installing. To be safe, uninstall everything, restart, re install, and restart again. Hope you can get it working.

Make sure you don't have Voicemeeter as the input for your mic, you want you have it set as your mic as you normally would. You CAN isolate your mic to AUX output (B2) and use that in discord. But if you just want them to hear you, you want to just select your mic for the mic input :)

I'm curious the issue is from discord desktop app which is the latest 0.0.299 version. I did the same input (mic) and output (speaker)source in skype, and works perfectly. voicemeeter ibb.co/gUcDN6 discord ibb.co/h1i9vR skype ibb.co/gs3nh6

After digging posts on reddit, I found a solution. I need to disable "High Packet Priority" under settings -> voice & video ref: www.reddit.com/r/discordapp/comments/4s6k5s/help_friend_cant_hear_me_even_though_discord/

Interesting, I didn't have that issue at all, and I still have it enabled. Well either way, glad you got it working! :D

Generally recording software sees it as output. Playback usually is input.

You're not the first and you won't be the last.... :p I'm going to assume you followed the steps correctly... if so then just un-tick A1 as that SHOULD be your hardware output (as per the tutorial). If you DIDN'T set it up correctly, you're better off uninstalling and starting over, as trouble shooting each step would take a while. Best of luck!

Not sure what is causing that. Never ran into that before... Is your hardware output set up and active?

@@5hy We've had some pretty good results from others following the video, so I'm thinking there's something a miss in your set up. Are you able to provide a screen cap showing both your Voicemeeter configuration AND your Sound Control Panel? It's hard for me to figure out what's wrong from "It's not working" :) The most common / effective solution for it "not working" is to uninstall all VM related drivers, reboot, reinstall and reboot again. So I highly suggest trying that first.

Are you using a mixer? Just a mic? Are your headphones plugged directly to the motherboard audio, or a sound card? Are you using the most recent version of Windows? Did you update Windows before or after attempting setting up VM? The more info I have about your set up, the better I can help... feel free to hop into the discord channel and share a screen shot :B

In all seriousness, you probably just have one of your output channels on as an input. You want to make sure that ONLY sources you want to be grabbed by recording software is on B1 or B2 exclusively. Make sure that any audio you want to hear that is coming out of VM only hits your selected device (AX).

I have a question. I have set this up so that i can run music ambience for my friends when we play d&d and stuff. They can hear the music just fine, but they also hear themselfs double. How do i fix this, so that they dont get their own voice but just whatever i play on my pc? thanks in advance
@NeroTheHero5 жыл бұрын
Check your inputs. The reason they can hear themselves is because you have VM looping the audio back through your communication software. If you aren't recording (and assuming you set it up correctly) then all you'd technically need to do is have A1 (hardware out) active, so you can hear thier audio.
@ozze9995 жыл бұрын
@@NeroTheHero Thanks for the reply! I removed b1 and b2 on cable output. That seemed to help. Then the voicemeter VAIO virtual input b1,b2 seems to control if they can hear my music or not. Thank you!
@NeroTheHero5 жыл бұрын
No problem. It's a bit confusing at first especially since there's no physical audio cables to work with ( also what you tried to do is actually a bit more advanced than a standard set up) once you get your head wrapped around it, you start to see how capable to tool is. I may do a tut specifically for creating a "DJ" set up like you have there, virtual audio cables. Enjoy VM in the meantime, and. Much success :)

i hear echos in discord how do i fix?
@NeroTheHero3 жыл бұрын
The output for discord is also set as your input or vice versa. For example: Your mic is on B1 but your discord speaker out put is also B1. Just put them on different channels and you should be fine.
