I would say before going for a trail ride you should bed-in the disc brakes. As simple as getting some moderate speed and then gently making the pads rub against the rotor without locking them, repeat a couple of times.

The thing with people recommending to put grease on the seat post. It can be ok on some bikes, but I have a hardtail with a seatpost that just kept sliding down during rides, no matter how tight I made the clamp. I suggest you use gripping compound instead. It will work like grease to prevent corrosion, but it won't be slippery in an application that relies on friction to work.

I like to add protective frame tape, downtube protectors when the bike is new out of the box as opposed to wishing you did so after the fact. Just never know, especially nowadays with the pricepoints of these bikes to keep them upheld at the best condition you can, while enjoying them.

Make sure that you really consider your trails and needs first though. It's the job of many bike companies to try to make you feel like you need a full suspension bike, when a lot of the time people just end up spending too much money on a bike that they didn't really need and won't get full use out of. Either way, it's your choice.

I have this bike, the 2020 model. I also have a Schwinn Axum, hard tail. Which one do I ride more? The Schwinn. Don't get me wrong, the Polygon rides like butter but besides having to constantly lockout for hills, I ride the Schwinn hard because it's basically a $400 bike with some upgrades. 15.00 pedals. I always thought this was the way from my old days, but my new Nukeproof Horizon pedals loosen when pedaling forward and unscrew and fall out! Yes, the R is on the right and the L is on the left, but I have checked, double-checked, and triple-checked (and you know I could keep going on), but new pedals seem to be the total opposite in every review of pedals today, and this video is only three years old! I always remember from my racing days, etc., that the pedals would tighten toward the front, so they always tightened as pedaled, but apparently, it's a safety thing now-they unscrew when pedaling forward. 😂 Please let me know if anyone in 2024 is now seeing this, please? I have even commented a few times saying I'm going to have to put the L on the right side and the R on the left side just to make sure for safety reasons they never undo as pedalling forward! And when putting them on you hold the pedal and pedal the crank backwards for the pedal to tighten!? I need to know exactly for sure please if this is now a thing or have Nukeproof sent all these pedals out with the spindles in the wrong sides?

Hi just wanted to add on your video about checking your bolts and and though I would mention the seriousness of that and thought maybe you could make a video or include the extreme safety aspect of checking your bolts . The main reason is that a couple of days ago I purchased a second hand specialized stumpjumper from someone who had not ridden the bike much at all but had look after the bike well ...thats what I was told . I went out for a ride last night on the bike and started to hear and feel a click through my pedals so went home and checked it out to find that all 4 chain ring bolts only had about half a turn left on them before they would of fallen out ! That could of been very dangerous in so many different ways depending on if the chain got jammed and locked up the rear wheel or I could of jolted forward and gone over the handle bars . It would benefit alot of people to check there bikes if they buy second hand when they get them home so I would love for you to do a video and express the important of it and the safety aspect if it isn't done if it comes down to brake caliper bolts being loose and falling out it wel you can guess the rest . I hope you can do a video and hope this may help alot of people and have alot more confidence it there bikes too knowing they are safe 😊

I wasnt happy that when my T8 arrived (around 5/01/21) the cool lil cardboard box inside that had all the paperwork and tools etc had been opened and pretty much dumped out inside the big box and the big box had a hole in the bottom from shipping so who knows what was missing. More importantly- they had Vee tire co tires on the bike instead of the Schwalbes that they listed. - Those are worth about half as much by the way. -also a paint chip by the emblem on the headtube. So I emailed them -only about the tires- asking them to take the vee's back and send me the Schwalbes... The bikes online guys try to distance themselves from polygon like it was a different company and took zero responsibility for the manufacturer swap. (polygon is the only bike online bikes sells) They said there was a shortage (obviously you can buy as many Schwalbes as you want on Amazon). They said I should be glad i didnt have to wait longer for the right tires ( I did wait about 4-5 months). Im ok with taking a chance to save money adjusting the bike myself etc, Im not ok with this company not sending me what they advertised and what I paid for.
