For new people a faster shortcut to find content managers file path so you can find the controller config files is to go into content manager and try to save a new preset with any settings of your choice, save and name the config to what ever you like then go back to your slider settings screen in content mananger now then you want to save it one more time but when it opens file exporer this time do not save just right click on the config file you just named and saved before and right click and hit edit then you can just open it and copy and paste the code like in the video

I didn't manage to do the step with the text to copy so before struggling more i tested to drift and in the end i found that if i just leave everything on max except the deadzone and the sterring filter that i put to around 20% it works just fine and i can finally play with my controller! 😃 So thank you for this video. 🙏

Like I said. Assetto corsa isn't meant for wheels only. Kunos could offer better profiles for gamepads. But I believe they don't have specialized personnel to improve gameplay on these devices. Even with the game offering it...they are crap and should be improved. That's what I tried to do. Happy that you liked it.

If your still stuck man just change the wheel rotation to 90 and the sliders up to Max save it then use that as the old file and copy and paste the settings in, save as a new file then load it by changing to it in CM

I just picked up Assetto Corsa yesterday on Steam and on Xbox and was looking for some tips about controller use. I tried these settings of yours (without the Gamma config edit on the Xbox version), and it just wasn't working for me and my driving style. Cars feels very sluggish and very understeer to drive. Shame that this video didn't explain what those settings changes in the behavior of the car control. So I did some trial and error test driving on Nordschleife and Spa: STEERING GAMMA - input resolution, higher is more accurate STEERING FILTER - interpolation/smoothening of steering wheel corrections, higher number means more filtering is applied and thus feels slower but more stable and predictable. STEERING SPEED - speed left/right steering, higher is faster STEERING SENSITIVITY - sensitivity (radius) of wheel turning. Lower feels more understeer (front is not turning). While testing, I found that some cars could use some adjustments with speed and sensitivity. Some cars might feel too twitchy or boatish, small adjustment with those 2 settings corrects that.

The gamma is essential. Cuz the rest of the numbers were set to be working around it. Try it on a PC. Don't think you're going to be able to replicate it on a console. The bypass only works with content manager installed. But thank you for showing your experience on that.

And you are right about the steering sensitivity. Depending on how you set it, you make the whole setup be adjustable for a more rigid or flexible suspension. But without the bypass on the gamma, unfortunately things get complicated to improve when you're trying to get faster.

@@godsmackssa The settings that I feel comfortable with wasn't that far away from your settings. Gamma obviously maxed (400 on Xbox). Filtering on 60% Speed on 30% Sens on 50 These settings makes AC feels more like how the controller feels like in other racing games like GRID or DIRT. I negate talking about the deadzone settings, since that depend on how much drift the analog stick has on a controller.

@@NexuJin gamma is all about "compromise", it makes steering more precise at the CENTER but gradually loses precision as you near full lock. You definitely do not want gamma at 400 for tight turns as it'll make 'em harder. Put it in 170-220 range and fiddle with other settings, keep the filter low as possible. Sensitivity and speed is generally what you should experiment with.

I found an odd way to fix the new settings not showing up. Put the new file in savedsettings like the video shows first. Second open the game from steam not content manager. Third you will now see the new file you made and so click load it and then click save. Last, open content manager go to controls and you can now select your settings!

The 90 degree lock is meant to give you better responsiveness. Faster left and right movements. It's needed.

It may have not loaded the settings. Try to load it again in CManager. Which car were you testing? Some car mods have broken physics. You must pay attention to that. And again...this is still a simulator. You must be gentle on the sticks. I usually drive doing small taps on it. Will try to make a video of it recording my movements. So you can try and replicate it.

@@selfmadek. I noticed that some ppl with w11 with newer versions of content manager don't have ot aswell. Since I'm in w10...it's hard to tell this is happening due to this thing. But the chances are pretty high. If you're on w10...it could be the CM version probably. Or due to folder permissions aswell. But if you have no folder in it...you can try it out making a new one and importing the new settings through it. Test it and tell me it that worked.

Hi, that problem happens due to the way you spawn your car on the map. Try switching it from "starting line", "pits"...etc. It's on your "Drive Tab" in content manager. The cause of that problem is on the map. Not the way you set your camera or gamepad.

Did you select the input method as "gamepad" on the controls panel? If so, you should check your controller drivers or sth like that. Here, after connecting the gamepad on the usb and selecting gamepad there on the section I mentioned makes everything working.

He's got the settings in the description of the video but if you mean the actual file where it's saved. Even if CM is installed elsewhere the file that needs to be changed can be found in the location he's got in the video. Just make sure you actually save the settings.ini . I also created the saved settings folder there but this may have been either because I had a saved one yet or because it was installed somewhere else the settings were also saved somewhere else. I found creating the folder to User/documents has worked for me

With steering angle set to 90 degree's this makes it impossible to make tight hairpins, I.e Monaco and Montreal.. I'd recommend 270 degrees on steering angle.

Watch the video of the nissan gtr (rocket bunny) I posted...there I share some extra numbers that may help you out. There's an extra video I want to do in order to show how to use it on specific cars/builds. That thing you pointed out really can happen on specific type of cars. The purpose of these numbers shared on this video was meant for a more balanced set of cars. Cars that are not too stiff or flexible. You might be using a stiff build. So it demands bigger values of speed sens. That's the only thing I change in order to make that current set of numbers work for cars that demand adjust. That maybe your case.

What's your input? That setup may vary depending the car you're choosing. If your car demands more speed..you can increase steering speed values...until it's ok to your taste.

Integration with xbox series controller is always better on windows pc. But there are tweaks to make other controllers working great aswell.

It's more sensitive on the aspect you mentioned. I haven't offered this as a final solution just because of that. So depending on the car you're driving...you can set steering speed between 0.1029 to 0.1049 to give it more responsiveness. Ty ba bruh

Here it is. The steerspeed I set on the .ini was 0.989...then when you go to the x360 app inside the game...increase it to 0.1049. It has to be done this way...cuz if you type 0.1049 on the steering speed value inside the .ini file, the game will interpret it as a different number.
