you can get by with a normal ps5 controller, high rise thumbsticks help i use em for mine but my settings are twitchy to steer, game still feels great but i need to fine tune my settings lol

well yes but a cheap wheel doesn't feel as good after getting used to it. If I want a good wheel experience, I will have to spend min 500$ and have a dedicated setup for it which is cumbersome and not cheap.

BTW: I got FH4, Motorfest and other racers sitting on my drive but I just can't get enough of AC. Testing out different car and track mods is way too much fun :D

CSP developer should focust on improving controler settings sence some of us just like to push our steering wheel aside sometimes and just drive for fun and chill. It feels like wheel rotation is too big. In ea f1 games all I have to do is turn down wheel rotation for controler to 240-250 and driving becomes perfect. I easy get to top 20% in time trials if put some effort into it.

It would be nice to configure trigger sensitivity and deadzones too. Would help a lot of people with worse controllers to get on well with assetto corsa.

The CSP developer (x4fab) already added gamepadFX for this purpose, there's a bunch of different mods you can try.

You can do this with lua scripting... But at end of day game was never designed for controller.. Wheel is the best way to enjoy it...however not all can use a wheel... I think the csp controller scripts help too.. There's about 4 to choice from 👍

- You shouldn't be using any visible steering wheel limit, it's going to hide your actual input and deceive you into how jarring your steering actually is, not to mention just being inaccurate in general. - Speed sensitivity simply reduces stick input with vehicle speed, so it's dependent on the car you're driving and makes thumbstick movement inconsistent - Filter is a smoothing effect, however until about 90% it just feels like it's slowing the steering and doesn't do much smoothing. It has nothing to do with speed sensitivity In my vanilla writeup I recommend using Speed 80% / Filter 97% / Gamma 400% / Sensitivity 40% You'll have to adjust it for different cars and preference, but it's a great starting point. You don't need to stick roll with this and your steering will be fairly smooth even without steering wheel limiting. I find stick rolling uncomfortable and it makes it hard to quickly counter steer which is critical for vanilla since there's no FFB or gyroscopic assist.

There's no right or wrong when it comes to steering wheel limit, it depends on your craft (how well you understand your car) and your controller. It's really personal preference. With the settings I showcased, I'm on the pace with wheel players in leagues etc and faster than a good sum.

pro tip - play on a pristine condition dualshock 4 and learn it, I have found it;s the best proportioned for driving and after a week of driving on it the joysticks become an extension of you and somehow it feels like you can feel the track.

if you have csp 1.79 and up I believe, it should be there, just scroll down or type Controller Tweaks and you should be able to find it

I'm using your gamepad settings and I feel that the steering of the cars has improved, but there are many cars that still have to take turns that are fast with a long radius, the steering doesn't turn around the entire curve and it seems to lock up and I have to slow down a lot. times and I waste a lot of time, how do I fix this in the car?

There are some tracks where you're required to slide your steering sens down to 60 - 65. It might help but wears your tyres out quicker as a result. But also what cars are you talking about because I don't seem to have this issue, other than for monaco.

yea some dude told me the a7 assist would help the driving feel more like a sim wheel, and even the description of the mod would lead you to believe its exactly what we need for gamepads, but that shits wild af, and from what i can tell from the vids of people using it for drifting, it does all the countersteering for you, you just hold the stick into the direction of the corner

Ye, use it for drifting but you could also drift without gamepad fx, though it would require a lot more skill to master and time that I don't have. For racing, no gamepad fx will help you.

I think there's something wrong with your PS5 controller's trigger. I'm on the gamepad testing website right now and I'm having no trouble at all hitting .90 by releasing slightly, or any other number with mine. Yours also doesn't reset to 0. I'm pretty confident in saying that your controller's trigger is messed up. I'm doing this with an almost brand new controller.

Exactly! You have to keep the left stick up during the entire course of driving maneuver. You'll have an incredible precision! Think like the stick is a 1:1 wheel!

It's not good, you can't be accurate with your inputs, as well as making minor adjustments, it'll be little to impossible. For games that require precise throttle inputs, you'll be at a huge disadvantage, I don't recommend it at all.

A steering speed of 0.01 represents 1% tho. So its shown correctly in the content manager!?? And having the stick always forward feels super awkward. Side to side way more reactive for me. Other than that probably the best video out there! Helped a lot, thanks!!

Don't really know if I understood the question. But if you're talking about cars losing stability when up or downshifting, that is the nature of the car. They behave as such in real life as well, its something you have to adapt to and be more cautious of.

The wheels probably spin faster and loose traction at higher RPMs, you have to be smooth with your inputs. This isn't really a controller issue and more of a fundamental understanding of racing mechanics.
