How to set up your guitar | The right way!

Excellent instruction for a first go at setting up a guitar. Other than realizing certain guitars(most) just aren’t going to get the action you want, fret height and have perfect intonation, while also setting your pickup heights just like Hendrix or SRV. If the guitar doesn’t sound or feel right, or doesn’t feel like when the guy at your shop does it, then just ask him what his standard adjustment lengths and heights are. The test for me is how long I can go before needing to setup my guitar again, beyond minor intonation, and very subtle string height adjustment. It just takes practice doing it.

Nice helpful video thanks guys! The Golden Rule for any adjustment especially a truss rod adjustment - just make small changes 1 at a time and check it before making any further changes. Be sensible and you wont run into issues.

Hi. I ordered a Fender Duo Sonic from you guys last week. It arrived all fine etc but the set up wasn’t great as it had some choking out in a couple of places. Also the fret ends were poor, but I know that’s not your fault. Anyway... I have sent off to Sam Deeks for a set up as it needed some work

.5mm is a lot of relief. Twice the amount that most manufacturers recommend.

I believe that is because he is measuring it at the 7th fret rather than the 8th fret, which is where most manufacturers measure it from.
