Thanks for this link Liesl! It was soooo helpful! I like the porcelain 12 well pallette and added it to my cart! at Amazon .I love how you can use this with tubes and pans. How perfect;! I think this method is great for a smaller floral composition like this. I love painting landscapes and this probably wouldn’t be the best option if it’s a large scale composition. But for the card size landscape it would work! 😊💕 Thanks again!

Do you ever use solid pans? I was struggling to get enough paint mixed up without muddying the colors on either side. Wondering if I’m doing something wrong or missing a technique

My preference is to use a palette with wells rather than a solid pan. Ceramic palettes are my favorite because the paint won't bead up like it can on plastic, and it also doesn't stain like plastic. (Metal trays or palettes work ok too for that same reason.) If you're trying to get a good amount of color mixed up, I would recommend having some kind of well for the paint to settle in, and be separate from the other colors. Or if your mixing small amounts of color and are not wanting them to muddy up the colors around it, just try not to have the water or paint touch AT ALL. If the colors or water begin to touch even a little bit, they will blend and bleed into each other just because that is the nature of watercolor, so just try to keep them in separate corners. I hope this helps a little bit! I wish you the best of luck with your painting!
