I bought that Meeden pallet last year and haven’t used it. I did order the round Meeden similar to your Quiller ($49CDN), and waiting for it to be delivered today. Thank you for your reviews. Very helpful!!

Ah...great choice. I prefer my round one. However I use this rectangular palette as a back up. :-)

HELLO! :-) Welcome to the channel. Thanks for mentioning this. Yes. The price of these porcelain palettes continues to fall. I'm confident of the quality of this Meeden one, because I own one. Of course, if the price is too low, I might start to suspect the quality. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

I bought this palette early on but I also bought the giant Stephen quiller one. Both have paints in them permanently 😄☺️😝

I hear you. I think the main reason I buy additional palettes, is because I get extra paint and need a place to put it.

Hi Kris. Here's a tough question, but if you could only have one palette, which one would you choose?
@KrisDeBruineStudio

Actually, it is an easy answer for me. I love the Stephen Quiller palette. It is my #1. I like the circle layout, I like the big wells. I like the overall size.
@hooklineandinker

Definitely Stephen quiller. So big.

@@KrisDeBruineStudio Meeden make their own version of the large round palette in addition to the one you reviewed here. It doesn't come with a cover either, but it is also around 1/4 of the price of the Quiller palette so I'm sure someone could source an alternative cover with the difference. Each well apparently can hold a full 7ml tube. If the porcelain quality is the same as you suggest then the less expensive version is a great deal.

Hi! Thanks so much for the information. Good to know.

Is a porcelain palette supposed to hold paints for a long time, or do you just fill enough paint for a session? I'm asking because I've seen many artists fill paint to the edge in each pan of a palette, but that seems to only apply to tin or plastic palette.

Hi Trang. I fill the wells of my porcelain palette, cover it when not in use, and rewet the colors when I start painting. Because I use good quality watercolor paints, the paints re-activate very quickly. I have other videos showing how I fill my other porcelain palettes. You could check those out - kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5THpX2lhZx2htU

How to cover porcelain palettes when you want them to store? I don't want to keep my palettes open inside my drawer or in my bag.

Great questions. My Quiller palette comes with a cover. I spray the paint every time I begin and when I finish painting and then cover the paint until the next time I use it. This keeps it moist and ready to go. My porcelain palettes are used exclusively in my studio, so I don't put them in a bag. They can be quite heavy and difficult to travel with. If you need a travel palette I would suggest this palette instead - kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKGUipSnm9aUeNE

I cover my porcelain palette with a towel, which would then be used to clean brushes in painting sessions. This way, I have everything in place for painting. Alternatively, you could use another ceramic plate that's slightly larger than your palette to cover it, and to offer more mixing area 😀. I'd never put a ceramic palette in a bag. A practical ceramic palette for travel doesn't exist on the market yet..
