Just wondering, the depth lost of running flashers off of long lines? I run mainly a full core and just wondering how it will be impacted with an 8 inch spin doctor Thanks

Hey Chris, Good video. When letting leadcore back out, people could pay attention to the line counter if they have them
@tangledtacklefishing5 жыл бұрын
We have all of our lead core reels labeled with the length of lead core on them. We always let the full length out. This is a great topic and I’ll add that to my list of questions that I’ll answer on our live video that I’ll do this coming Thursday.

My point was, if you are trying to fit the middle board back in. Just put it back to the number you had it at

It’s the exact same boat. It belongs to my fishing partner and good friend Jim (the other guy you see on our videos from time to time), and he takes great care of it. They are great boats and fantastic tournament rigs.

Any tips on when the board dives when a fish is on? Or when they dive when retrieving in rough water?
@tangledtacklefishing5 жыл бұрын
Good question. Keep the rod tip down and almost pointing at the board until you can get the board to the boat. The board will act as a shock absorber and will take the brunt of the fight so you aren’t in danger of snapping the line. But still be careful not to over tighten the drag.

Do you run pump handles? How do you deploy them with your dd out?
@tangledtacklefishing3 жыл бұрын
I don’t use them. I have enough success with my coppers and lead core for don’t see the reason to switch.
@Brownshabsfan4 жыл бұрын
So how do you keep your leadcore, especially the deep 8 colour from tangling in your dipseys / Down rigger you have running inside? I'm guessing that even the deepest leadcore is still running shallower than your high diver so that when you hook up it can go over the dipseys and rigger? Lol I'm having trouble with my leadcore getting tangled in my dipseys and rigger and I think its because my leadcore is deeper than my dipsey and they cross it you try to pull the leadcore in first. Also maybe my lead on my rigger could be too long causing my lures to rise back up enough to get caught in the leadcore? What do you think?????

I’m assuming you’re putting your long lines on boards?

What depths are you running on your riggers and divers when they’re tangling?
@Brownshabsfan4 жыл бұрын
@@tangledtacklefishing well I think my leads off my triggers could be too long... causing the lure to float back up shallower than the 50-90 feet my riggers are usually set. I think my dipsey might be running too shallow at times maybe 20 -30 feet. Then I will have like 10 colors out on the planet board, my thinking was if i had enough line back on the leadcore it would swing back over my dipsey but i think it's running too deep and either when a fish grabs or i try to pull in the leadcore with pulling in my dipsey they will tangle. Leadcore tangles with a flasher on the dipsey is a nightmare!!!!!

I'll take number 369 for the drawing if you're done for tonight

what is the benefit with leadcore compared with a sinker 20-30 feet infront of the lure? In Sweden no one uses leadcore only sinkers, but i would very much like to try :-)
@tangledtacklefishing4 жыл бұрын
Lead cord gives the bait very unique action. I’ve tried snap on sinkers before and I don’t think it compares to lead core as far as lure action goes.

Can you please tell me the reel size needed for a 600' copper with 300yds of 65lb braid backing. Also 10yd 60lb mono at 300,400,500 and 600. Thank you.
@tangledtacklefishing5 жыл бұрын
Big! It sounds like you’re trying to make a multi depth reel. I could spec something out for you but it would take me quite a while. I would recommend finding and downloading a reel fill calculator and play around with the numbers and see what you come up with.

I am following up on my efforts to setup a versatile weighted line rod. I found a setup on another page for a 200 weighted wire attached to 19 strand wire on a size 45 line counter. They represent it will dive like a 200 to 500 copper. Just feed out what you need. Do you have any experience with this setup.
@tangledtacklefishing5 жыл бұрын
Earl Pursell I’m sorry I don’t. We use several different copper setups on the boat. Each one targets a different depth. I wish you best of luck in your pursuits.

Always worried about running high divers with a single copper 100 ft off the side I'm a tangle master. Seems like I put the boards out someone has to cut me off then I'm making 90deg turns while a spinny is grabbing everything 🙃

How far back from your cannonballs are you fishing?
@tangledtacklefishing4 жыл бұрын
Max Power it varies. Some days the fish want a short lead, other days they want it long. If you’re not sure where to start use the “rule of 100”. Depth + plus leader length=100. eg: 70’ down + 30’ back=100’. Go from there. You can even try one downrigger short and the other long to see what the fish want, then adjust accordingly.
