Feel free to add more egg cartons or paper towel rolls. This video is just a good place to start. Also something to remember is that sticks are better than tons of fake plants. You'd be better off with 2 - 4 good sticks than a cage full of fake vines.

Do crested geckos need a light cycle? I got a 7 quart tub for the little dude but I'm not sure whether I should have light or not

I *never* would have thought of using egg cartons like that. Genius.

is this really good for housing them? im just getting one as a pet, not to breed. will it be completely healthy in this enclosure and live its full lifespan??
@Sostic4 жыл бұрын
Yes you could also look into Exo Terra tanks if you don't like the way tubs look

Is there anything that is toxic for the gecko that you wouldn’t think?!
@novaava4 жыл бұрын
@@theskyquakewarrior Nonstick cookware. Anything made of teflon before 2013 (according to Google) can release toxic fumes (PTFE) when heated; and while it's relatively harmless to humans at that concentration it can be deadly to reptiles and birds. I think your animals are ok if they're in a separate, closed-off room, but please don't take my word for it, 'cause my information might be outdated.

NovaAva Thanx! I knew about teflon and birds. Didn’t think about it could affect reptiles too.

Great video I’m looking to buy my first crested gecko and watching this video it seems like the crested geckos poop everywhere. I have Leopard gecko‘s and of course they seem to be trained they go to one corner so this is not the case with a Crested geckos and you can you train them to go in one particular spot? Appreciate your input thank you

Unfortunately you can't 😕 that's one nice thing about leopard geckos

Your best option is to heat the whole room if you use these

How many ventilation holes do you put on the tub?
@Sostic4 жыл бұрын
I usually do one or two rows around the top of the tub about an inch apart and then as many as the lid can fit also an inch apart

ehhh yeah I mean all that cost more than $20 lol but thanks. I am not trying to be rude in the comments its just when you say a price on a video, then all that stuff really adds up to like $35 to $40 especially with the fake plants it's just not true. All reptile breeders seem to do this, exaggerate how little the animals cost. I mean, they are worth the money don't get me wrong, but just be honest about it. This is a great video for anyone who thinks a gecko needs like a huge exo terra glass tank or something for one animal like I did when I got into breeding geckos (you know, those are the ones they sell at pet stores, so you naturally think it's what's needed when you bring an animal home.) who knew you could just buy a rubbermaid tub? lol.
