Keep in mind backtest results do not guarantee future performance but it is a most do drill before deploying and strategy.

do you have any update on this? I am running this settings and so far I had 17 trades with 15 SL hit and 2 winners. I also watched the video like 4 times to check I copied everything as you did. The SL seems so tight. PS: i am running the bot with paper trading

Is this still relevant for 2023? I followed your directions, ran the back test which I know is not a guarantee, but everything is loosing via StopLoss. No wins yet at all. What video of yours would you recommend for the Kraken exchange and for this current market?

Appreciate the question. Unfortunately the strategy was relevant 2 years ago at the beginning of the bull market and would not be a valid strategy for a bear market. You will need USDT available on the exchanges you plan to use.

I use Market orders on CryptoHopper but if you select limit order type you have an option to buy at a fixed price based on a %. For example, if the lowest ask for a coin is $1 and you configure 1 (%) lower bid here, it will place an order for the price of $0.99. If your bid price does not get hit your bot will not open a position even though the strategy was triggered (this is why I use market orders).

Hey what about if you add trailing stop loss at say arm at 1% and then the stop loss percentage can be like 0.8% so that profits are locked in and reduce the losses happening for those that never reach the 1.96 target? But when I apply this to backtesting it actually shows me more sales with losses. Thats odd, how does the frequency of losses increase...

That could be a valid strategy. As for why the loss # increased it is more than likely due to your position not reaching the 1% arm level for trailing stop before reaching your 0.8% stop loss level.

I tried your strategy, controlled 5 times the bot configuration: sell at 1.96% profit, stop loss 0.49%, Multiple TA with 1hour candle & SMA 9,20 ..and same time frame 2/12/21 - 6/16/21, and it does not gives the same results for same period of time. For example for 1Inch, profit is 5.83% with 7 sales (77.78%) and 2 sells w(22.22). Thanks for your advice

Cryptohopper backtest results are not always the most accurate. I also go back on the charts to confirm the strategy.

The back testing is not accurate. For example you will find some consecutive buyings without selling, but if you set "only one position per coin" some of the sellings the test gives to you are false because that buys could never had happened. And I don know how they come to the MAX PROFIT value, Iam adding all the individual proffits and doesen´t match

I ran the same algo on mudrex for the same period and it showed drastically different results to the cryptohopper results. Mudrex showed this strategy had net losses on most of the 9 selected coins whereas cryptohopper results matched those of recontrader. Feel like cryptohopper is being sneaky here as you said.

@@emanuelesantiano1048 I experienced it as well, made an experimental strat with 10-15 indicators, and on ethdown it made around 180% profit in the backtest, while on paper trading it went nowhere That backtest is completely useless, gives false results, false buyings and sellings, and completely ignores the stuff what's inside the baseconfig, short, DCA, it doesn't matter, it doesnt calculate with it Ill try to make a Mudrex optimized strat I think and do a test on CH

Thats impossible to get those results, I copied your every setting and the results i got were nowhere near the same as your results, I tested them all and they were all about max 4% profit, and just a few 4 -7 profitable sells, and losses. So it seems like CH backtesting is a load of rubbish, other people here have exactly the same issue. I even get EXACTLY the same results testing for a six month and 12 month period. Its amazing they do great at charging hefty big subscription fees, but if the backtesting is flawed then its all a waste of time and losses will be inevitable.
