Why do you have to use an active speaker if you already have two Amplifiers. Is that mean the speaker output from Crown 1000 are not used because the input link out from C-1000 connected to active speaker will be amplified already.
@StreetMobTruckin5 жыл бұрын
No so a Active speaker already has a built-in amplifier so from my crown amp I only send the signal via 1/4 or XLR.
@pedro3dynamite5 жыл бұрын
I was wondering the same thing! My whole purpose of watching was hopefully seeing how you connect a sub to just active tops. Is there a way? I have two pr 15s and two crowns, 2000 (I believe) and a 1500. And I have a peavey sub but it's custom made. I got that at my local music store but it's great! I was looking at powered tops and was wondering how to connect those with the sub. Great video tho man! Never thought about connecting my mixer to the sub amp first. Is that only with your setup tho? I also have a BBE optimizer thing. Hahha!
@StreetMobTruckin5 жыл бұрын
@@pedro3dynamite Haha Thanks man! I recently got a DBX Driverack. And to you question. Yes and no. You can't connect your sub directly to the active speaker with one simple cable. If that's what you were thinking. If not, then plug your XLR/1/4 to your amps first for the sub in your case, then with 1/4 plug it in the link/out connector in the back of your amp. Then plug the other end to your active speaker.
@pedro3dynamite5 жыл бұрын
@@StreetMobTruckin, yea buddy. You got me all confused. But here's another question, I like my pr 15s. How bout using them AND a powered sub? How would that work and connections? My sub (I have two of them but typically only take one to my gigs) weighs about 65 lbs!

@StreetMobTruckin4 жыл бұрын
Go from your mixer to your eq/processor if you have one (If not exclude this step) then to your sub amp and bridge out to your active tops XLR if possible

burning qs. how and why did you connect your power amp (crown1000) to a powered full range speaker. will that not kill your powered speaker??? reply pls this is a need to know qs for many.
@StreetMobTruckin7 жыл бұрын
Samuel Ogun Not all man, what I did was send audio signal from the xlr that travelled to the crown amps first then it's linked to the mackies. It's only sending signal not actual power from the amps
@Pinko_Band7 жыл бұрын
But why connect the top Crown xls 1000 amp at all if you aren't using the power? Why not just skip that amp and go straight from the bottom amp to the Mackies with the Link Out? Why bother with the top one at all? Is it because you are using them as crossovers? This is confusing! lol cool setup tho!
@StreetMobTruckin7 жыл бұрын
Let me give you steps lol it's a bit weird! So i will only use the XLS1000 IF i am using the Peavey PV115 Tops! If not then you are correct, just go from the XLS1500 to the mackies! Hope that makes sense. let me know if you still have questions here to help!
@Pinko_Band7 жыл бұрын
DJ Brandon Well I get that u use the link out cuz the tops are powered (I figure u use that amp for passive tops), but since the tops are powered in this video, couldnt u still just skip the 2nd amp? I noticed you had the main outs of both crown amps going to something so I figure the 1500 goes to subs, what are the main outs (not the link outs) on the 1000 connected to?
@StreetMobTruckin7 жыл бұрын
Ah ok So from my SX Mastered Out it goes to my XLS1500 - Subwoofers if i decided to use the Passive Tops then I link to the XLS1000! (IF NOT THEN JUST SKIP TO THE POWERD SPEAKERS) now if i decide to use the Mackie Thumps then i just ( link )=( Signal ) though the 1/4 to XLR cable to send to the mackie.

Hey DJ Brandon, I have a pioneer mixer ddj-sx2 along with 4 active Behringer subs, 2 active QSC PA, and a crown amp with passive JBL tower style speakers. Should I go from my mixer to the active subs, Active PAs and then over to the crown amp/tower speakers? Or mixer to crown amp/tower speakers then active subs then active PAS? I Appreciate any help!
@nigaltafai67786 жыл бұрын
You know you can cross the sub at a lower frequency and put your tops into high pass so you have less chance of clipping at higher volumes and it will just sound a lot cleaner.

Yes that's what I do! Got a dbx driverack aswell!

Thinking the same thing at least 100hz. I own those Peavey PV118s. I gutted mine, upgraded to Peavey Low Rider Black Widows cause the drivers that came with the 118's used to bottom out (I LOVE CLEAN BASS). You have to make sure to brace that cabinet for those Black Widows or they will start farting and making violent buzzing sounds. Once you brace that box, aawwww shn!t!!!!

@wendelllyons55036 жыл бұрын
@@EBMproductions1 A crossover helps to tweak more bass out of that sub and allow your subs to play louder and deeper without taxing your sub amp especially if you're just running 300 watts. Contrary to popular belief under powering a sub is way worst because the harder you push your amp the more distortion is produced. Distortion will FRY your voice coil in your sub and/or make your overworked amp go bye bye. They weren't clowning you. Crossover is cheaper but a processor gives you wayy more options.
