Priceless videos. Just bought one, absolutely love it . One tip is to make sure the mig torch is fully inserted before tightening up. Its a common fault which is costly to repair. Thanks again.

I completely agree. Hieroglyphics are not my native written language. And all those illustrated warnings on the sticker inside, LOL! A picture may be worth a thousand words, but if only six words are required, I'd rather just read those six words than try to figure out what what all those pictures mean!

Hey Chris, can you tell me the max thickness steel/aluminum the 2200 can run in a single pass? Also, I've about drove myself crazy trying to get information on the 2700 version (which I'd like to order today) but can't seem to find ANYONE with any knowledge about it. Does it have the same features as the 2200 and just not packaged with the stick and tig gun? Or is it just a Mig/Synergic welder? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm ready to pull the trigger and would really like the 2700.00, but depending on the thickness I can weld in a single pass with the 2200, I'll buy this one instead. Thanks a ton, love your channel.
@chris_b_liven4 жыл бұрын
Andy Carpenter It depends on your wire size and type for material thickness. You can weld 1/2 and below with no issues . Are you planning on using the machine on single phase power? The amperage output on the machines are similar unless you have three phase then you get full amperage on the 2700. The 2700 takes larger 44 lbs spools and it’s four roll drive vs two. Much more wire type options with 66 vs 24 and it’s 100% at 170 amps vs 150

Also, you can buy a MIG only or a TiG complete package. The cart is an option

How has the machine held up so far? Would you recommend this Brand above the typical American brands?Lincoln, miller? I've been trying for a while to find a good quality portable wire feeder I've tried Lincoln 210 MP and Miller multimatic 200, these machines only run good for about 3 to 4 months then you run into all sorts of problems. Have you tried running big wire on it like self shielded flux core .045?
@chris_b_liven3 жыл бұрын
Hey 👋 I would say if you need the 110v option than there isn’t a better machine on the market. It’s 100% duty at 105 on 110v and 150 on 230v. Big punch 🥊 It does have .045 self shielded / dual shield and metal cored programs. They run great in regards to arc quality. Do you need 110? If not, I suggest the Fronius TransSteel 2700. It accommodates a large 44 lbs spool and it’s 4 wheel drive. The 2700 is 100% @ 170 - shoot me an email and I get someone local to reach out about one - bliven.Christopher@fronius.com

Hi. Awesome videos. I'm shopping for a new welding machine and have narrowed down between the Trans Steel 2200 and the ESAB 215 Emp. What is the thinnest metal you can weld on synergetic mode? With it. Have you tried the esab's so you can give me your feedback. To decide which welder to get.
@chris_b_liven4 жыл бұрын
Javier, thanks for watching. The material thickness depends on the type of wire, diameter and gas mix you plan on using. The TransSteel can easily weld .020 thousands plate with .023 wire diameter. This is with solid wire 70-S 6 - On aluminum you can use 3/64 wire all the way down to .060 material thickness. If you look at a few more of my video I made one for each type of wire and gas mixtures

@chris_b_liven5 жыл бұрын
Precivilization Yes. If you hit duty cycle the machine will protect itself and turn on a countdown timer ⏱ You can’t weld until the timer gets to 0 and flashes the faceplate back on

It really depends on wire diameter because the smaller the wire it equals more wire feed speed

What if I want to run .6 mm wire? There is no .023 liner for the 320 gun, would I need to get a 250 gun? Would the .030" liner work reliably for that 15 feet?
@dahut36142 жыл бұрын
I see in the description at Canadaweldingsupply dot com for the 40-0002-0054-005 liner that it does .023" and .030" and that is the liner that comes in the gun. It is, in fact, the larger wire liners which are added cost options. I would want a separate gun setup for each wire size and for this brand they are quite a bit more expensive!
@chris_b_liven2 жыл бұрын
This liner is good for .030 up to .045 wire sizes. I suggest ordering the .035 liner which will feed the .023 much better
@dahut36142 жыл бұрын
@@chris_b_liven Okay, not the one that comes with the gun! I see there are Standard and Combination liners. There is a Standard .030" liner 40,0002,0040,005 which may be the better choice.

Just got my 2200 today. It was working awesome but .023 jammed up with the liner that came with the welder. The jam was cleared easily and that’s when I realized the liner was not for .023… Is the .035 liner still the best for .023?

Hey Chris, is the drive roller assembly made out of plastic? I wasn't able to tell looking at mine. Also, do you know of a flux core nozzle that would work with this gun?
@chris_b_liven5 жыл бұрын
+Fluke Yes, a majority of the machine is plastic injection molded just like the drive wheel assembly. I haven’t seen much issues in regards to durability. Are you talking about self shielded flux cored wire or standard dual shield flux cored? If it’s self shielded just take the nozzle off. Depending on the torch setup you can just use the same nozzle which comes standard. This all depends on the country you buy the machine from. It’s either a red handle or black handle welding torch
@Precivilization5 жыл бұрын
@@chris_b_liven Thanks. I am talking about self shielded flux core. If I leave the nozzle on, I can't see, and it gets filled with crap from the flux core operation, if I take it off, wouldn't the threads and diffuser get ruined? I just wondered if there is a purposely designed nozzle for when using self-shielded flux core.
@chris_b_liven5 жыл бұрын
Fluke They don’t have a nozzle but they make a torch setup for self shielded. I usually have a diffuser and tip that I swap out for self shielded.
