I recently finished a 5k plan with coach Jeff, and it went really well. Knocked 4 minutes off my PB 👍🏻🏃♂️

how is your experience with Jeff? i'm thinking between jeff and greg!
@markg992 жыл бұрын
@@suhasinimadhuryachennubhot9342 I got some good results with Jeff, though I did start to find some of the workouts a bit boring in later weeks, doing the same drills over and over. The drills did help me to think about cadence and how to transition between walking and running though, so they were useful. I would personally try Greg next time just so I can compare. I haven't used him yet. I'm sure either coach will be fine and it's probably best to try each in turn to see which fits your needs, and to take the variety of lessons offered by each. Good luck, and enjoy the plan. I do have a playlist of my Garmin 5k experiences on my channel if you think it would be of interest 👍🏻🏃♂️

Thanks for the video. Anyone know if you can change the data screens within Garmin Coach workouts on the watch? I've started a 5k plan (on an FR245). It works but doesn't show heart rate on my data screen within the coaching session. If I try to change the screen it seems to end the workout. Thanks.

Thanks for the info Shane. I've just picked up a Descent mk2 as my first Garmin watch so still trying to figure it all out. What I would like to know is when running a Garmin coach session, how do I change what I see on my watch for instructions for the next step/lap especially important for pace sessions. At the moment it will say things like "run very hard for 20sec". When I look at the session on my phone it will actually have km/min pace min/max targets for that 20sec. How do I get the watch to display that I for so I actually know what zone to be running in rather then waiting for it to give me too slow or too high alerts? Thanks

I've set it all up but how to start? It doesnt show how to start in phone or watch. It's not an option in the: startbutton>run. Or is it not compatible with FR55?

Does the watch give spoken instructions about pace , hr zones etc. if connected to my Bluetooth headset?

No, the watch vibrates to tell you to start or stop.

Hi! I have a question that I can't find the answer for anywhere: Can you set a target distance/time before your run on a Forerunner 45? Say if you wanted to go for a 40 minute run and want it to alert you when you hit that time, or a 10km run and it lets you know when you've reached that distance? I know other watches have that feature but haven't heard it talked about for the 45. Thanks in advance if you can answer!

Nicely explained. I had started a plan for running a 5k with a time target but suspended it after 3 weeks due to COVID-19 restrictions on outdoor running. There was one question it asked about how fast do you normally run. Found that a little unclear. Are they asking for the current race pace?
@shanebow4 жыл бұрын
It isn't clear you're right. I assume it's just your average comfortable pace. Cheers for those comments
@kartikiyer7474 жыл бұрын
I guess it sets the pace for intervals and other workouts based on the benchmark run and time trials. Anyway let me see how it goes once I resume the plan. Cheers! Keep up the great work!

Shanebow- I enjoy your videos and vibe! Hey - I have a FR 235 that I got in eBay of unknown vintage. When I go on Garmin Connect and look under Training Plans, all I see are cycling plans. Does this have to do with the age of my watch? I don’t see any running plans. Thanks!
@shanebow4 жыл бұрын
No you should definitely have running plans on there. The 235 is a capable watch. I've got a couple of vids on how to setup training plans that might be worth double checking. Otherwise try uninstalling and reinstalling Garmin connect. Hope it works out

@@shanebow thanks much for replying. I went online and added the Half Marathon training plan, deleted and reinstalled the GC app, and I have a half victory: it shows up on my Calendar in GC, but oddly the training plans shown are still all cycling. Hi! Thanks for this great video. Wondering if you can shed some light on the following: “other: lap press”. What does this mean? It’s on my Garmin Coach workout as a step after warm up but before a cadence drill. I have no clue what I am expected to do running-wise or if necessary, the button I need to press on the watch. Any guidance you can offer would be fantastic. Thank you!
@OutdoorsIQ3 жыл бұрын
It’s basically saying “press the lap button to continue to the next step”. Press the lap button the start the next leg. This is usually bottom right.
