I was trying to update my Google Universal to GA4 and I wasnt being able to make it work for shopify (since you have to create tags and some other stuff). Since all the measurements that I had in Google Universal didn't matter bc my website hasn't been launched yet I decided to delete it all and start from zero with your tutorial. While trying the other way wasn't working and it took me 5 hours yesterday, just starting this way took me 30 minutes and it worked. Thank you

Hey Stewart, Thanks for this tutorial! Before I was under the impression that simply entering your Google Analytics account in Shopify Preferences would add the Google tracking code, and there was no need to edit any code. But GA didn't really start working until I edited the theme.liquid code as you showed in this video. While my GA seems to be tracking great, I'm seeing an abnormally low bounce rate which I've read can be caused by duplicate tracking code. Do you have any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this issue? Thanks!

This Is great thanks! But I read on Google Analytics that Shopify did not support the G-ID and I need to use the older version UA-ID. So can I still use the G-ID instead?

This is how you do it with the new version. Yes you can still use the old method with past versions of GA.

Hey mate, There are compatibility issues at the moment. This is the way we find works with Shopify atm.
