Hi Pazi, Thanks for alle the detailed videos. It really helped me setting up my M52 Gurbo E30. I have installed an original E30 Clutch switch. Problem is it's grounded when depressed and open when pressed. Is there any way to change those settingsin tuner studio? I would love to keep using this switch because it's bolt on and very clean. Hey Pasi, excellent video as always - quick question though; I've set mine up exactly the same but no matter whether my switch is pressed or depressed the launch is always armed. I've tested the voltage at the switch (5v when grounded, 0v when open). Any idea what's gone wrong?! Thanks!

No we don't. We are using e85 which doesn't knock. Of course in theory, but the engine will be destroyed by too high cylinder pressures or preignition (it's different than koncking/detonation). So even street tuned engine is quite safe with e85 and no knock detection.

It's as safe as launch control can be :D It will hard for your exhaust valves and turbo turbine wheel so I wouldn't recommend to use launch for long time at once.

Hey, do you think these same settings are ok on M20 turbo? I have it set -20, spark cut only and it makes a solid bang haha, I got heavy duty rocker arms but is it too much for this motor?

The rockers in m20 can break even in regular N/A engine so Yeah it's bit risky :D

No pressure but banging the rev limiter can make the rocker jump on the cam and crack because of that.

Mjaa-a. En oo kyllä KDFI:hin koskenu enään herran aikoihin 😅 Se laajakaistan kytkentä on kyl semi epäselvästi KDFI:n dokumenteissa, mut pitäs riittää, et vetää 0-5v signaalin OXY-IN pinniin.

@@jeanbraysek9454 Sounds like it just needs tuning. When you start your engine, it has Afterstart enrichment enabled, which makes AFR richer. After some time the ASE goes away and you will be running purely from VE table and your AFR will be leaner than when ASE was enabled.

Broc Roeber sometimes the clutch switch can be mixed with neutral gear switch. Greg from the carpassionchannel had simmilar issue. Put the car in gear or neutral and check if it works. If it does then all you have to do is switch them together so the clutch switch is connected to where your neutral switch was. Watch his video for more details.

Would just using spark cut create more flames, and wouldnt it be safer for the engine? I´m probably wrong but was just wondering, love the videos by the way and the effort to translate it all!

jannplanken Fuel cut is actually safer for the engine. When the car is warmed up and you have a hot manifold, you have fuel going into the exhaust manifold and burning. If you're naturally aspirated it won't matter much, but for turbo applications your turbo bearings are going to be stressed.

Tarkottaa että moottorinohjaukselle menee tieto millon kytkintä painetaan ja jos kaasu on pohjassa samaan aikaan, niin moottorinohjaus tappaa koneelta ennakot. Käytännössä voit siis vaihtaa isompaa pykälää nostamatta ollenkaan kaasupoljinta.

Chase Jones Well if you have separate wideband controller, just run the 0-5 signal wire from controller to oxy in at kdfi and configure in tuner studio what wideband controller you have in use.

I'm not using a wideband controller. Wanted to know if I just pinned the 5 wires to the "lambda" section they have where the wire colors are coded would that work? It looks like that is what you did but I could be wrong

Chase Jones The manual says to ground the gp2(or something like that. Check the manual) to enable the integrated wideband controller. Also you need to get the signal from the controller to the ecu, so run wire from oxy out to oxy in.

1. You can use the USB connector in the KDFI unit. There is standard ftdi rs232 chip in the KDFi unit to convert the seril data from megasquirt to USB. So you will need to install drivers for that in the PC. Also you need to use the dip switches in the KDFi board to change from Bluetooth to USB. 2. standard r232 serial data. 3. Here is manual for the universal one: www.redline-developments.com/downloads/Enclosed.pdf For the specific manual to your unit, you need to ask from k-data 4. yes you can. I have video series coming how to tune the stock m52 engine control unit.

Thank you for answer ! I have e34 525i single vanos 141 kw, and I want build turbo, because I have that many question. What you think, how many HP I get from turbo 1 bar? I reading on forums, then you have turbo (cca 1 bar), you dont need reprogramming ECU, you dont need change fuel pump, injection....etc !!! Whats your opinion about that? Thanks for video !

People have got over 500hp from stock engines. But every time you put turbo to the engine you have to tune it. And also change the injectors and fuel pump etc. because those can provide fuel for only minor hp increases. Fuel pump can normally be enough for 50 to 200 hp increase but the stock injectors are normally only good for 10 to 50 hp increase.

Yes it's sounds lovely with little tune. But those tend to too unreliable for turbo use if you don't throw tons of money to build the engine. (heads cracking, poor pistons etc.). NA tuned m20 is much more reliable.

M20b25 motor is perfect for turbo applications. 8.8:1 compression, strong bottom end. The weak point of these motors is the rocker arms. I have a 87 325i with a Garrett Gt3076R turbo on 22psi. Making 434rwhp and 492fttq.
