Nice shoutout to smart commands for simplifying programming! For those are using loops, there's an even simpler offset formula available. Give this a try: column(loopIteration, labwareName). In this case, it would be column(i, "96 Deep Well Kingfisher[001]"). You can get creative by incorporating expressions into the labware name or specific parts of it like the index.

Hey David! I am running 16 plates that contain the exact same commands. I am measuring something at 15 min intervals for two hours, and am sampling the entire plate each time. The only thing that changes is which plate I am sampling from. I am wondering if there is a way to define the plate offset in the script, so that I don't have to have 16 different groups in my script? I do have it set-up this way and it works, but wondering if there is a shortcut for future scripts! Thank you!

The annoying part about smart commands is that you can't conserve your tips! This is particularly obnoxious if you have a smaller fluent and space is an issue, or if you want to be environmentally / cost conscious. That's where I tend to use loops, but it sure would be nice from a programming perspective to just use a smart command oftentimes An option to set tips back within a smart command (or not pick-up or drop tips automatically until I tell fluent to!) would be really nice, but I suspect this is partially because tecan wants to sell more tips (I can't blame them, but I always prefer more functionality!)
