How to setup MPC 2000xl as a Controller in Logic Pro 10.5

@@Verysickbeats so i connected the out midi to the in on the mpc and its orking, but i am having trouble mapping the keys so they are synced with the Akai so i can trigger the sounds in MPC Beats on my AKai

Does this work with any DAW? And doesn't the mpc 2000xl lose its sound properties as a result? As a controller I mean now.

Could you use red white cable or 1/4 inch mpc output to interface input to use actual mpc drum machine instead of it as controller?

Hey i bought my 2000xl a few months ago. I`m tryna use it with my daw but mine has a zip drive I`m wondering if the mpc can be used as a controller without any additional sounds I was planning on installing a usb drive to it but at first Iwonder if i need any attachments like sounds to upload before i can use the mpc on the daw.

if used as a controller, the sounds will come from computer, not MPC

Just want to start by saying you great. I saw another vid showing them using line outs, real new guy question but can you explain that? What I’m saying is you said you can choose between recording midi or audio in your daw, how you finna do that if you only using midi? Thanks in advance tho

midi plays the sounds from your computer using the mpc as the controller but audio means you have to use the line outputs of your mpc to transfer actual sound into your computer by connecting audio cables to your audio interface which is connected to the computer. Audio is transferred from sounds already inside the mpc.

Good stuff bro! Can you only use one sound to sequence? Or can you have multiple instruments on different tracks playing separate midi? When I load up a different instrument, it changes the previously loaded instrument

@@Verysickbeats got it! I now have a Korg Trinity Rack running with my 2000xl. I have been able to assign the midi channels for each track. It works perfectly

I think it's a shame to use the mpc 2000xl as a controller, you don't really use the xl. I can also use a cheap mini keyboard with pads for this. But if you already have the device at home, no longer use it and want a controller, it makes sense again
