Hey bro, you should do some more videos on the MPC 2000XL. I was thinking about picking one up once I find one at a reasonable price. The XL looks pretty sick, but I haven't seen a lot on it on KZbin. I'd like to see the waveforms screens and all that. Just a friendly suggestion! L8r bro!

Hello. I'm soo late to this series. I'm thinking of buying an XL. But, I heard right? I know they got a mix bus compressor, is that true? Can you make a video about that or about the XL compressor?

My XL doesn't have any built in FX. Its an optional extra. I recommend finding one that has the FX module, or looking at picking one up

Are MPC 2000’s hard to use? What other equipment would I need if I wanted to get one?
@spvidz3 жыл бұрын
slightly more tricky than an SP I'd say but any sampler is going to come with a learning curve. The only issue with the 2000xl is there isn't much info on it online, you would have to do a lot of digging through the manual - Pretty sure you can read it online. I will be doing more tutorials on it soon too

Just to let you know that the digital outputs are SPDIFF they look like RCA/Phone cables, but you need to buy the digital type cable. The out puts on these are dead quiet like the digital TOSLINK/LIGHTPIPE and well worth the investment. I use it to sample clean signal coming in as I have a Motu 828 mk2 that has SPDIFF input and output.
@spvidz3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that info man. Sounds promising! I’ll have a look into it 👍

Do you have a video where you compare the differences con's & pros between the 404 & MPC 200xl ? I'm thinking about getting one but I want to know why I should get one if I already have a SP 404 can you help ?
@spvidz3 жыл бұрын
They work well together and the MPC is much better for chopping and has a better sequencer but the workflow is also quite slow and mine doesn't have any built in FX so its hard to make my beats gel. I will do a comparison video at some point as thats a good idea!

@@spvidz can you breakdown the difference between using an -External SCSI CD Drive(Not Zip Disk) -CF SD Drive -USB Floppy Emulator Driver Which one is the best option? I just bought my MPC and it came with 2 external SCSI CD drives but I’m still trying to figure out what will be best in the long run, workflow wise. Any input is much appreciated! Thanks!
@spvidz Жыл бұрын
I've heard that SCSI can be very temperamental and I've heard of people losing a LOT of beats because they randomly corrupt or die. I would say the SD drive as its the most futureproof/modern now

would you recommend this sampler for my first mpc? also what do you record the tracks too cause it loses ad conversion when imported into a daw and lastly could i pair a mpc2000 thrust an sp303?
@spvidz4 жыл бұрын
not sure for a first one because its very slow and quite a steep learning curve as well, it depends how comfortable you are with working with something that's going to be a bit of a challenge. I'm afraid I don't know what you mean by 'loses ad conversion'. Pairing wise you can connect the audio of one to another with just a cable. I don't know about the midi side of things because I've never messed with midi stuff really

@@spvidz i was thinking of just making a beat on the 404 then running it thru the 303 chain if i did that could i get a wireless recorder like you do and get the beat to be recorded that way? would it record the 404 beat and th 303 efex if i linked them together. also would it work with a mixer record thru that?
@spvidz4 жыл бұрын
yes you can chain with the 303 because you can add FX on the signal coming into the unit which is nice. It would work fine to then have a wireless recorder at the end too yeah, or like I do go into your computer and record there instead. You would need an audio interface to record into your computer though
