Thank you so much for your support❤ The problem with this plugin is limited to only region where store located, for example my store in Colorado so the plugin calculate any city in Colorado but all other states the tax rate will be zero Any idea to fix this problem?
@darrelwilson2 ай бұрын
Hey! You can fix this by configuring WooCommerce to apply taxes based on the customer's shipping address instead of just the store location. Go to WooCommerce settings, then "Tax" and set "Calculate tax based on" to "Customer shipping address." This should allow tax rates to apply correctly across different states. Hello Darrell, my store is in Georgia and i used the plugin(woocommerce tax and shipping). It is enabled as well. I tried doing a test with other countries as well as US(selecting all states). The tax rate is 0. What could be wrong. Any help?
@darrelwilson27 күн бұрын
Hey! If your tax rate is showing as 0, double-check that your tax settings in WooCommerce are configured correctly. Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Tax and ensure your tax rates are entered in the “Standard Rates” tab for each country or region where you want to apply taxes. Also, verify that “Enable Taxes” is checked in the settings. Some plugins might need additional configurations for specific locations, so this could be the cause. @@darrelwilson Tried getting this plugin to work many different times. By the 2 star rating, I'm concluding that this plugin just doesn't work. Have the same issues. Shows 0 for taxes. Checked all the settings and they are correct.

hi, your videos are great. I have a question. Some states like, New York, Massachusetts and Rhode Island have a cap where they don't get taxed until they meet a minimum threshold. How would I set a tax rate for that criteria in WooCommerce Tax plugin. FYI, we are in a destination-based state, NJ and was having trouble using the automated method. It's charging tax for apparel in NJ when it shouldn't be. So we're now trying to set our taxes manually.
@darrelwilson13 күн бұрын
Hey! Head to WooCommerce > Settings > Tax and in Standard Rates, add rows for NY, MA, and RI with a zero tax rate and set thresholds as needed. For NJ apparel, add a row with zero tax for that category to avoid charges. Feel free to drop your questions in the comments below.

Hey im in CA also but I will be drop shipping all over the US. These products are also coming from the US and not overseas. Do I just need to enter the CA tax rate and make sure "Calculate tax based on Shop base address" is selected?
@darrelwilsonАй бұрын
Hey! Yes, if you're in California and drop shipping within the US, you should enter the CA tax rate and ensure "Calculate tax based on shop base address" is selected in WooCommerce. This will apply the correct tax rate based on your location. Feel free to drop your questions in the comments below.

thanks for the video darrel! I'm a beginner and I need a help please, if I sell inside US and I enabled the plugin for it, and I also sell outside US like for UK, Canada, Europe and other countries, How can I add Taxes for other countries outside the US automatically? Is it possible to make it automatically too? as I see this plugin only for the US region right?
@darrelwilson3 ай бұрын
Hey! If you’re selling outside the US and want to add taxes automatically, you can use a plugin like WooCommerce Tax or TaxJar, which supports automatic tax calculations for multiple countries, including the UK, Canada, and Europe. These plugins handle tax rates based on the customer's location, so you won’t need to manually set them for each country. Just install and configure the plugin to start calculating taxes automatically for all your international sales. Feel free to drop your questions in the comments below.

What plugin do you need to enable automated taxes? I have Jetpack and woocommerce shipping and tax installed but there is no option to enable automated taxes
@darrelwilson2 ай бұрын
Hey! To enable automated taxes in WooCommerce, you’ll need to make sure WooCommerce Shipping & Tax is properly installed and activated. If you're not seeing the option, double-check that Jetpack is connected and fully configured, as it integrates with WooCommerce for automated tax calculations. Feel free to drop your questions in the comments below.

Hello. Thank you. I followed your tutorial and as you stated that when the woocommerce shipping and tax plugin is enabled, it automatically deletes the standard rates and new class rates However it pulls in all the tax rates from taxjar. Does that mean it will pull the clothing tax exemption in NY because it's under $110? I really need help understanding this. Thank you.
@darrelwilson5 ай бұрын
Hey! Yes, with the WooCommerce Shipping and Tax plugin enabled, it uses TaxJar to pull in all relevant tax rates and exemptions. This includes the clothing tax exemption in NY for items under $110. It should automatically apply these rules to your products. Feel free to drop your questions in the comments.

@darrelwilsonАй бұрын
Hey! Sorry to hear you're having trouble! Double-check that you've enabled taxes in WooCommerce settings under **General**. Make sure to also configure your tax classes and rates properly. If everything looks good but it's still not showing, try clearing your cache. Let me know if that helps! Feel free to drop your questions in the comments below!

I don't think this plugin works it defaults to shop location (FL) it is set for the customers shipping address and it is still the same.
@darrelwilson17 күн бұрын
Hey! It sounds like the tax plugin might be defaulting to the shop's location. To fix this, check the "Tax Options" in WooCommerce under Settings > Tax. Make sure that "Calculate tax based on" is set to Customer shipping address. Also, ensure that your tax rates are configured for different locations under WooCommerce > Settings > Tax > Standard Rates. If it's still not working, you might want to check for conflicts with other plugins or settings that could be overriding this. Feel free to drop your questions in the comments below!

Hey! If your store is in California but you're shipping outside of the state, you’ll need to collect sales tax only for orders within California, unless the destination state requires tax collection. Feel free to drop your questions in the comments below!
