Thank you so much. Much easier to follow than the woocommerce tutorial about tax setting. I have a question: When I put item incl tax for 100€ and I sell it to Germany it would be 100€-19%, to Spain 100€-21%, Canary Island 100€-15% right? So can I set up 80€ regular price and add tax depending on shipping address AND hide it same as show price inclusive tax? I mean, depends on where the customer is the total price shows differently?

PLEASE HELP; It would be greatly appreciated. I am not a web developer. I am just creating my 1 e store& praying the only thing I need to do once done is update all my plug-ins, add/remove items for sale, and change some visual aspects via my webbuilder once I am bored of the design. Why make/use a 2nd list for taxes (ex. Reduce)? Can't you just have taxes data under the same standard list? What is does the priority column do exactly? Should we keep every entry as 1? What happens when you put 2 or 3? How would the tax be displayed if you don't write anything under the name of the Tax column?
@WPressDoctor6 ай бұрын
Hi there! Thanks for the questions. Let me try to answer them: 1) The lists are created for as your country charges different kind of taxes. So 21% for products and 10% for state tax or something like that. 2) it makes sure that first the important taxes are done, so you could prioritize them 😀 3) that’s a good question. Just try! Remove the name and then put it back in again 😄

FYI: In the US, states are made up of counties (or other names such as Parrish). These are further made up of cities. Within a state, you could have different sales taxes among the various counties in that state AND then you may have additional sales tax adjustments by cities. Crazy, but that's the way it is.

Hi there! Thank you very much for explaining this, it is such a mystery for me as a guy from the Netherlands (Europe)! @@WPressDoctor On top of what @gts6889 said, in some states of those states with 3 tax rates. Oklahoma for example; a state tax, a county tax and a city tax, and you pay all 3. Now stack on top of that the fact that a city can be in more than 1 county and you have a real mess. In Oklahoma for example taxes need to be calculated by address to make sure that you are charging the proper county tax because the city could be in 1 of 2 or 3 different counties. It's a nightmare.

Nice video! But I've looked everywhere even considered doing automated taxes because I can't figure this out. How do I enter or set up taxes manually for NY,USA? There are 3 tiers of taxes. Sales in state of NY but outside city only 4% State sales tax imposed. Sales in NY state WITHIN the city boroughs it's 4% state tax PLUS 4.5% City tax PLUS 0.375 MCTD Tax...For total of 8.875% At the minimum I must somehow enter totals as 4% for state, and 8.875% for city. How? And how to I apply city tax rate just to our 5 boroughs that make up nyc? 🤔 Confused.

I am planning to sell stones and crystals to private customers in Sweden, Scandinavia, EU and worldwide. Also just like you, I will have different products like stones, books, and even food with different tax rates. And in my TAX settings in Wordpress, it says "Your tax rates and settings will be automatically configured for Sweden." What kind of settings do you suggest for my tax settings? I would appreciate it :)
@WPressDoctor6 ай бұрын
Hi there! Thanks for the comment! Well as it is in Europe I would go with manual tax. Then start with Sweden and then fill all the classes in - for books, food, stones, crystals. I think Sweden has 3 taxes just like the Netherlands? Then every single product should get in the right tax class. Then gradually add more countries and check the tax rates per country. I guess that is the best way?

I have a question that is a bit extensive, if I open a store that is available worldwide, it means without restrictions from which country you buy. How do I set the tax on such a store website? It's impossible to set every tax in the world, I think that's crazy. What I read in the comments is that in that case it is only necessary to link the tax to the country of origin of the store, if I'm not mistaken? But in that case, it is not clear to us that there is an option, let's say I put an example on several countries, for example US, UK and NL, the exact taxes, and then we have the option to put the taxes on all other countries, for example, at 22%, in that case we are making a mistake, because taxes are not the same everywhere, somewhere they are less than 22%, and somewhere they may be higher than 22%. What happens in that case? Or if it happens in case the tax is wrong, what are the consequences? :D

Hi there and thanks for your question. To be absolutely sure we need to talk to a tax-professional in your country. Ik snap de taxen niet bij shipping. Stel dat ik 6.40 aan Bpost betaal voor een pakje te verzenden, Moet ik de klant daar boven op nog is extra 21% laten betalen om van Belgie in het binnenland te verzenden?
@WPressDoctor Жыл бұрын
Goedenavond!

Hi, Even though i am your "medelander"😊 from NL, i will write in English. When i sell outside EU, the vat is 0% (exporting outside EU). As you, my products in Netherlands are displayed on website and cart incl. 21% vat. When i add a country without tax, and tax based on billing address, it displays the vat on checkout page as 0% but the total payment is not reduced with the 21% for customers in Netherlands. It still displays the full amount incl. 21% vat. When i do for other EU countries it is calculated okay with the total amount the same but the vat from the EU country and the subtotal reduced with the calculated vat. How to set for exporting countries, for example AE (United Arabic Emirates) where i should calculate 0% vat?

Always count in the tax and after a month you wire it to another bank account. Then If you don’t have to pay it, you can keep it, but when you have to pay it, you got it in a separate account 😀

Hi Cyril and thank you for your question! I will create a video about that pretty soon, its a bit more harder than i initially thought 😊I need a tax expert to explain to me how this works.

UK has zero rate vat on books, also most food when you buy in shops but not luxury items like ice cream, alcohol or chocolate

Alabama & all states use a combine sales tax rate of the [state] + [city]=[sales tax]

Hi Stephanie! Thank you very much for the clarification! That’s great to hear, I would not know because I am not a US citizen 🤓 Thanks again!

Stop being apathetic. 21% is outrageous. I can guarantee they could supply the same services for 1%. Taxes are a con and people who buy into the gaslighting of the 'roads', 'hospitals' as the excuse for high taxes deserve what they get.

Hi there and thanks for your comment! When traveling the world, cities with high taxes and no corruption really are better looking out for their citizens in my opinion like West Europe. I now live in Portugal where there is some corruption and 20+% taxes... its very different. But hey, I don't run cities so who am I to argue 😁 Have a great day and stay safe!

It doesn't show shipping VAT breakdown. Do you have any best method to achieve this?
@WPressDoctor7 ай бұрын
Hi there! Thanks for the question. If you want to the VAT breakdown, you need to change a setting in WooCommerce which will say something like “show calculation in cart and checkout”. It’s somewhere there, I also always have to look for it 😎
