Hi great video. My unit takes a very long time to charge, could it be the settings or the battery is faulty?

Sorry to hear that! How long is it taking yours? Are you using the included charger?

@@CreativePathFilms thanks for the reply, last time I charged it for around 12 hours and it only charged 50% I lost the original charger and I'm using C charger from my Android phone .

That’s likely the reason, I imagine your c charger doesn’t have the output voltage that the OG charger has. You could pickup a DC charger from a local electronics store. I’ll check back in later with the specs you’ll need.

For fastest charging via usb-c, you’ll want a 20v/3amp charger (60w). This is the max you can supply via usb c. With a dc charger you’ll get quicker charge time, as it has a higher maximum input you can go up to 90w DC vs 60w with USB-C. The input voltage range for dc is 5-32volts at up to 4.5amps (90w max). So a 20v/4.5amp charger will give you the fastest charge time. Remember it’s 90w max and watts = volts x Amps. Remember this calculation when buying, because if you buy a 32v/4.5 amp charger you overload the battery (32v x 4.5a = 144w which exceeds the 90w maximum). The unit has a 5.5x2.5mm DC barrel. Hope that helps!!

Hey Dave I've had a weird issue where my AC adapters completely die while trying to charge this thing. It's happened twice now. My first adapter short circuited and the second adapter's Blue light doesn't come on anymore. Both were the official adapter I got with the product. Any clue why this is happening?

Well that’s not great!!! I haven’t had that happen on ours, but twice is a pattern, that’s for sure. Seeing as the ultimate is so forgiving with its input, might be time to try and source a 3rd party charger with the same or similar voltage and amperage. You should be able to source something at a local electronics store being a DC barrel charger. I’d also be hitting up omnicharge support to see what they have to say.

Hey Dave, just wondering. Do you have any clue why OmniCharge don’t sell this anymore via there website? You can still access and see it but it kicks you out of the buying and viewing site. Also how did you get the OmniCharge Ultimate to come to Australia?
@CreativePathFilms2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I have noticed this myself on their new website. I suspect they don’t want to deal with the added fees and logistics of shipping a battery over 100Wh to AUS. Which is very frustrating, considering they made it work for all their crowdfunding campaigns when they launched the products. You could reach out to support to see if they’re willing to sell you one. Alternately, I have found that certain shipping forwarders (such as myus) are willing to arrange shipping for these larger batteries. I have done this in the past with other battery products. You need to reach out to the forwarder ahead of time to double check they can ship it to you, then you’d need to make the purchase using a VPN (to get around Omnicharges website automatically booting you) and ship to the address they give you. You’ll probably want to buy with your VPN connected to an EU country, using an EU shipping forwarder so you get the 240v version. You will also pay quite a bit in shipping fees if you go down this route. It may not be worth it and you may be better off either buying a smaller capacity battery, or finding an alternate brand. It’s very annoying, they can ship it to us, they just don’t seem to want to.

@@CreativePathFilms Tell me about it. I actually bought both of them last year. The Omni 20 took 3 weeks to arrive to Australia, while the Ultimate had to take alternative routes, which included a refund and a reorder. But I beat the system, sending it to a friend in Europe. Only Company that could do it was FedEx. Took me 8 months for the package to go from Hong Kong to Denmark which took 4 weeks, then from Denmark to Australia. And don’t get me started on the price I had to pay overall. I haven’t even opened it yet as I’m out of the state. At the moment, the price is completely outrageous, let’s hope it exceeds my expectations. When I do have both in front of me I will rewatch your excellent videos about the OmniCharge power banks.

Oooofffff….what a nightmare. I hope it ends up being worth it for you. That shipping must have cost you a kidney! I had a bit of a struggle getting my Omni ultimate actually. Quick tip: unless they’ve changed the design, you’ll need a thin/flat type-c euro AC plug adapter. The round plug adapters won’t fit into the recess. And thank you for the compliment!
