It sounds like issue may be the phone. Try forgetting the car in AA settings. And setting it up again. Also try turning off the Bluetooth on the phone then turning it back on and manually reconnecting the phone from the car side.

Hello, I have a Cupra Leon 2021 and I have full link installed last week but now I would like to have it wireles! I did what was in the video and also put out bluetooth but it won't work. Do you know how I can do it? I have a Hotspot and wifi into my car. Thank you Jelt Zegers!

It may be that either your car or phone doesn’t support Wireless. I would check this first.

good video, thanks - any ideas on the easiest way to switch between android auto and apple carplay if you have both phones in the car and set-up already?
@TechInTheCar
@TechInTheCar 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Turn off WiFi on the phone you don’t want to connect. Then it will disconnect and the other should connect if it’s wireless. Otherwise just swap the wire.

Assuming your car has AA wireless which you need to check the specification of your car (or have a look at settings) then it may be your phone. I know it sounds basic but have you tried turning it on and off? This car was a brand new 2021 car just made this year.

In the 2020 new Leon you cant seem to use the telephone buttons on the wheel to phone someone using carplay. Only possible by using Siri which is a pain. You know a fix for this?
@TechInTheCar
@TechInTheCar 2 жыл бұрын
There is no fix. SEAT doesn’t let you use those buttons on most cars. It is not a CarPlay restriction but down to how they implement it.

Yes it should, but you need to connect an Android phone to get Android Auto to appear as an option. If you have connected one and it still isn't working then you should try a different USB cable as most times that is the issue.

Which Huawei phone do you have? The newest ones do not work with Google and that includes Android Auto. There is a support page here: consumer.huawei.com/uk/community/details/FAQ---Android-auto/topicId_7696/ If your phone should work then I would try a different USB cable, make sure it is connected to the correct USB in the car (as some only support it on one USB port). It should not matter what version of Android you have as Android 9 and above had Android Auto. If you have a phone that DOES NOT have Google there are ways to add it - search for videos on adding Google to Huawei.

I would try removing the car and phone and resetting the Android Auto app and trying again. It may seem obvious. The other possibility is make sure your ID3 is on the latest software because Android Auto wireless wasn’t available until the car was updated. I do have videos on the ID.3 infotainment system on my channel.

I'm not sure if you are still monitoring this video, but here is hoping... We've just bought a 2021 Seat Arona FR Red Edition. The dealer assured us that it has Wireless Full Link as standard, it was first registered in June 2021 and based on announcements from Seat around that time it all makes sense that it would indeed have wireless. Indeed, in the settings of the car I have the option to use an eSim or turn on wireless, so I'm guessing it must support it. The problem I have is that Wireless Carplay is never given as an option on my iPhone (lastest model phone, fully up to date software wise) nor on the car. On your video you could see the wifi symbol on the full link page, but it does not show on mine. So yes, at a total loss. I've even factory reset the infotainment system.
@TechInTheCar
@TechInTheCar Жыл бұрын
I am afraid that if it doesn't show it then it doesn't support it. I think the dealer may be confused between the features. You should connect with the USB cable first and if you have wireless CarPlay as an option then if you unplug it then it will give you the option to stay connected (or click it after you have used the wire and disconnected).

@@TechInTheCar Thanks, our car must have been one of those models between the transition phase of where it became standard and yet they were still shipping cars without it. Seeing as our car has the latest infotainment unit and 100% has wifi I cannot see any technical reason as to why it would not work apart from the fact that they did not ship it with the functionality enabled by default. I'll have to take it back to the dealer, it's a huge deal breaker for me.

Sometimes only CarPlay is wireless - I think this is because CarPlay was first to put out a wireless version so car manufacturers added it before AA wireless.

First step; and it is very simple but important - does your car support wireless? if it doesn't then it won't work. Assuming it does support wireless projection then next obvious move is to turn your phone on and off; and if that doesn't work turn your car off and come back to it later. Let me know if any of those work and if not we can go through some more!
