@@pridenyoni8209 thanks so much for watching and your kind comment! You shouldn’t need to connect anything, you just just need to change the input to Aux on the “Media” screen. Also make sure the “use original Bluetooth” option is disabled in the settings for the unit itself

Great video as I said in another comment. I put it up. I tried it and it plays fine. Now I'm in the process of getting it settled somewhere along with the cables which might be the hardest part. But why can't I on the call hear the person calling me? Also the messages that come to me for example on WhatsApp, when I click to read them, nothing is heard. And something else I noticed was when on the radio it only changes the stations 😁 Thanks a lot in advance for the answers!

Thanks for watching and for your comment! Not sure why you can't hear phone calls, maybe it is because you're still connected to the cars original Bluetooth? Try disconnecting the Bluetooth and try again. Failing that, try switching the input in "Media" back to Bluetooth, and in the new unit's setting select "Use original Bluetooth"

Thanks for the nice comment :) Yes I was able to tuck the box to the right hand side of the glovebox. The hardest part was tucking the wires out of the way, it is tricky but possible by removing the glovebox, and inserting the EasyConnect unit into the glovebox, THEN reinstall the glovebox as shown Thanks for watching :)

Just installed it mate spot on with the video and used the forms just to see fully how to remove the glovebox just wondering did you manage to keep the different driving modes visible in CarPlay aswell as parking sensors?

The parking sensor view does work with the CarPlay engaged, but sadly the driving modes don't, which is annoying. You either just need to exit it by holding the "Car" button, or do what I do and press the Cupra button multiple times and memorise which option is which. Thanks so much for watching :)

Thank you! :) The front and rear parking sensors still work automatically, and the display still shows the Park Pilot view, however it only shows it on the screen while in reverse. Hope this helps!

@@julien1951 thanks so much for watching! Yes it is necessary as it is required for connecting your phone to the unit, however I think it may work without the WiFi antenna, just very short distance. Best to install it if you can. 😊

Hi there, thanks for watching! Yes I noticed the same, unfortunately that's just the way the 5.8" screen is, it's quite a low resolution screen. I don't think you can really fix that without retrofitting a MIB2 system.

Also, I’ve heard about problems with the voice transmitter. My mate has fitted apple carplay before but people couldn’t hear him on phone calls. Is there a problem with that?

@@bradley3573 Thanks so much for watching! No SD required, the CarPlay is built into the unit provided. 😊 As for the Microphone on phone calls; it works perfectly fine as it utilises the original microphone in the car.

@@palieskmanotralala I can give you a written review here: It was very good for the price, wasn’t really laggy or anything, always launched CarPlay instantly whenever I got in the car. It was so simple to use! The only problem I had was: very rarely my Spotify didn’t want to play audio, and it involved closing and reopening the app on my phone.

Not sure I understand your question to be honest but I'll try and answer it: If you opt to use "aux" as the input in Media then the Bluetooth audio won't work unless you switch back to Bluetooth as the input in Media. However, if you prefer, you can use the option called "use the original Bluetooth audio" in the settings of the device which will allow all audio to be streamed by Bluetooth from your phone instead of using the Aux input option.

@@WheelzonWheels My bad - it was a poorly worded question. What I mean to clarify is at 09:27 when you mention the need to have 'aux' as an option under media for sound to work. If I use the option of using a cable in the AMI port, rather than coding it in, will my phone need to be connected via that cable in order for sound to transmit through CarPlay, or will sound transmit via Bluetooth now that the Aux appears in the drop-down menu. Hope that makes more sense - I think that's what you've explained anyway so thank you for that. Now that you've had the carplay module for a while, have you had any problems and would you still recommend it?

@@haseebali2751 no worries. Yes, the sole purpose of connecting that AMI to Aux adapter is to get the option to appear under Media; nothing needs to be connected and it will work wirelessly via the device. 😊 yes I have had the unit for a while and I’ve had no real issues, it’s pretty seamless!

Personally I didn’t disconnect the battery as there is little risk with working on these particular components, however it is advisable to not turn on the ignition with the unit in the glovebox disconnected as that may cause temporary issues with the screen in the dial cluster! Generally though not much can go wrong, but you can disconnect the battery if it makes you feel better 😊 Let me know if you have any other questions, thanks for watching!

Hi! You can still receive calls normally via Bluetooth, but you can also disconnect the bluetooth entirely and have the call go through the CarPlay completely. You have the option. :) Personally, I disconnect the bluetooth because I found that sometime the media input option would mess up if I used bluetooth and CarPlay at the same time.

Hey man - I attempted to follow your steps and I was able to get it all connected and working. However, the super thick power cable, where the OEM connects to the new one provided with the unit, is very obstructive and I couldn’t close the glove box. Do you mind sharing how you routed your cables because for me no matter what I tired the box frame wouldn’t go back in. Thanks for any help!

@@haseebali2751 hi there, i agree the wiring is a bit of a nightmare, and that’s the bit that took me the longest. What I did in the end was remove the whole glovebox altogether and then inserted the Easyconnect unit into its place (the slot in the glovebox itself), and then reinstalled the glovebox while trying to keep the wiring all positioned above the glovebox as much as possible. Without doing it this way it would’ve probably been impossible. Let me know how you get on, and thanks so much for watching 😊

Do the maps work well on apple carplay as my last CarPlay enabled aftermarket radio did a weird screen sharing thing and you couldn’t use it with your phone locked

Sounds like you have a MIB2 system with presumably the 6.5" screen? In which case you already have CarPlay built in, you just need to activate it. Search online for "activate full link leon mk3" and there is loads of info, some people say it can be done for free.

Yes it is the exact one I ordered. I don't think it's tried and tested with Leon by the seller, possibly because they don't get SEAT's in China to test with? But it does work as you can see.

Thanks for watching! :) Sounds like you've got a MIB 1 "low" which, as you say, doesn't have the unit in the glovebox. Sadly it does need to have the unit in the glovebox. :( MIB 1 "Standard" and "High" should work though.
