I run just about the same settings. One that Streak (Kim Cox) taught me was on the front under Soil Timings, I usually run my GPX 5000 in Normal, doing this at DIV, you will eliminate a lot of interference from other detectors. In the back, I always keep my detector in the Manual Tune mode, if someone comes up on you with another PI detector, you can turn the MT knob to eliminate them. Great Video! (Ringfinder)

Thanks, yeah I do the same for manual tune. Works great most of the time until an army of GPXs come heading your way when they notice you digging a lot of targets. :-)

Good video Scott as a GPX owner. Bottom line how deep can I set my soil timing while keeping the machine quiet. Coil cancel setting works great around power lines and still good depth with some adjustment to RX gain .

I've tried the Coil Cancel around power lines but never really had much success w/it but I didn't think about increasing the RX gain. good tip for next time. Thanks!

It’s not perfect , there will be situations where the GPX will not be the best tool. Lot of times RX gain can make or break your soil timings. Heavy rain, lower RX gain but coil cancel only works on DD coils and adjust the RX around lines in cancel has worked really well for me. High RX gets more sensitivity but also to outside interference too. Low RX helps keep it quiet but little less sensitivity but it’s a pulse machine and will still get great depth over most VLF machines. You have a great channel great work here Scott.

Imagine hunting that area in the early eighties with old Garrett Groundhogs. Found a ton of plates and buckels. Later

What does GPX stand for? Also I bet you are missing buttons (hence why you haven't found any yet with that machine) with the Iron set at 6....actually I have no idea what I'm talking about....
