Love your colour palette…makes a lot of sense! It would, in fact, be easier for me. Thank you.

Thanks for the suggestion! I consider painting as drawing with color, so in that sense I draw all the time. However, I haven’t drawn with dry media (pencil, charcoal, …) in a while.

I noticed the order of colors on your extended palette doesn’t seem to completely follow the color wheel, can you explain why? I’ve been setting up my palette based on the CIECAM hue angles, but I’m wondering if I’m doing it wrong. For example, you put burnt sienna before alizarin crimson, but burnt sienna is actually a low chroma orange- how come you didn’t put it between your warm reds and warm yellows? Similarly, shouldn’t pthalo turquoise come before cobalt blue, since it has more green bias? If you were to include burnt umber in this palette, where would you recommend placing it? I’ve been putting it between yellow ochre and burnt sienna, but I notice most people don’t do this. Thanks for the informative video, I appreciate the in-depth explanations!

Excellent presentation! Thanks! I would love to hear your thoughts on lead white vs Titanium. Also they combine zinc with many whites and I wonder if that's a bad thing. There are also videos showing people making lead white and it seems pretty easy to do. A lot of things to talk about. You do fantastic paintings!

This is good for portrait painting, but what about landscape? Zorn palette is not so good to start with for sea, trees and sky I think. Any suggestions for limited palette for landscape painting?

What are these palettes called? What wood are they made out of and how do you seal the surface?

Thank you for the suggestion! This seems like a great idea for a future video :) My palette is hand made by a man named Larry Wiseman. He’s based in PA and I took a road-trip to buy it directly from him. It’s made of plywood and sealed with 10 coats of polyurethane. Thanks for watching!

@@YupariArtist thanks for answering, I just had one imported from new wave. It was kind of expensive for a palette but I’m super excited to use it.

Hello mate. Excellent channel. I know you're busy, but is there any chance you could do a video/ videos on recommended pallettes for dogs, ie light dogs like retrievers, through to dark dogs like alsatians and rottweilers? I think tons of people would find that useful. Thanks

Hi Paul! Thank you for the great question. I would use the same color palette for all subject matter. The only exception is the Zorn palette. The middle palette I suggested in the video is perfectly adequate for pet portraits as well :)

Excuse me Sir, Can you tell what's the difference between Lead Tin Yellow and Genuine Naples Yellow from Michael Harding? It's too hard to choose two beautiful colors. I only can get one. Thanks Sir.

Interesting full palette, you have basically no earth colors other than burnt sienna and yellow ocre.

Thank you! Yes, my palette is composed primarily out of highly prismatic colors. I do like to use Burnt Sienna as a weak orange-red. Yellow ochre is pretty much a constant in all palette, but to be honest I don’t use it as much as lead tin yellow. Thanks for watching!
