This was VERY helpful. I would love to start a charity, but I am CLUELESS to what I will need to do. I hadn't considered needing an attorney to get it up and running, but having one, would put my mind at ease know that I will have all of my ducks in a row. Okay, so you mentioned a board? it's just me, but I'm sure I'll need some help but my question is, how many people or employees would I legal have to have to run this? I would like to find out these things before hiring an attorney to start something that I'm just not ready for. lol. I guess it's funny how a simple idea can become complicated. That being said, I would still like to learn/know the step by step process of bring my dream to life. Would the questions I have be answered in the free memo? That would be nice if they were, or even before receiving the memo I can get answers to these questions. Would it be cheaper to have a NOT for profit charity, OR would it cost less to set up a charity that earns a profit?

If you are an undergraduate I would focus on human services, sociology, and business related classes to help give you the building blocks needed in this industry. Look through your course catalog for specific classes within those categories to narrow it down. Your school may offer non-profit management classes.

Hello, I am curious to learn if it is possible (or even already exisits) to register a human being as a walking charity filter? So any company that "donates" pro-bono services to that person, who is using it to continue working on helping a charity hub of sorts, can receive basics like "covered travel/housing and food" all in the name of meeting bare-minimum criteria to continue helping a greater cause. ^and those companies that do so, can receive an official receipt of sorts. How could something like this be hashed out? Thank you
