How to setup your S136 drone

Thank You! Set up the S136. Found it more consistent to connect with phone then remote. Video recorded on phone was FHD 1080, very clear. No stabilization so probably not good enough serious hobby videos, but good enough for home movies. Make sure you calibrate it from the takeoff location and every time prior to flying to get more consistent flying performance. Doubt all the functions shown on the function screen work with this model but will try a few once I fully understand them. So far have always used the return to home for landing, works very well and turns off blades after landing. This is an excellent choice for learning about drones and their basic capabilities. The stated specs on distance are very impressive and have no plans to test those limits. So far very impressive for the price I paid ~$70 incl tax and shipping.

I had the same problem and almost returned the drone. You have to go through the start up procedure exactly or it won't connect. 'Read the instructions again and take notes on paper. Pay attention to beeps and number of seconds to hold buttons etc. The return function returned my drone 15 meters from take off point.

If you are in GPS mode . You might need to acquire satellites. If inside try turning off the GPS by long pressing the button.

This model should have a gyro button on the remote . You would press the button then the drone blinks until finished calibrating. If you are referring to compass calibration it should have a compass calibration button on the remote. Press it then spin the drone clockwise horizontally around 3 times you should get a beep from the remote . Once you hear the beep face the camera down and spin clockwise 3 times until you hear a beep. That would normally finish a compass calibration. If you are trying to fly inside . Long press the GPS button. You will be in optical flow mode then . The motors should start without satellites then . Let me know if anything helps. Best of luck 😎 👍

@ thank you very much my trouble comes when the compass calibration ive only been able to do the horizontal not the vertical and its very tricky getting it to cooperate as sometimes the drone doesnt seem to respond when i press the button

I’m connected to the drone’s WiFi, (there is even a note rope middle of screen saying “connect successed”) but it will not show video/pictures like your video describes. And the drone never stops flashing either. A message pops up intermittently stating, “open video timer out, trying again “. Eventually the drone stops flashing and powers off resulting in my phone reverting to my original WiFi connection. To me it seems the drone is NOT connected despite the appearance and messages (albeit in poor English). Any advice?

Hello Try turning the WiFi off then back on again and see if it works. If not try a friend's phone to see if it shows up. If you don't have any success maybe the camera is unplugged and not getting power . Best of luck 😎👍

Mine I got working, but it was drifting slightly and hit an object. I changed the damaged blades. Now it goes through all the stuff successfully and the blades start spinning, then they immediately slow and stop with a beep. I’ve got no idea what to do next. I wonder if there’s a way to just reset everything and start fresh?

Hello This could be a gps issue. Try starting it up outside and wait for the transmitter to beep. Then try to take off . Hopefully this will work. You could also try turning off the GPS for indoor flying. Best of luck 😎👍

Hello You might not have enough satellites for GPS flight on the location. Try shutting off the GPS by long pressing the mode button or the GPS or slide off the switch if equipped
