Wonderful! So happy to hear you learned the french seam, it can be a tricky seam to master but once you know how... it becomes easier. I use the french seam on almost everything bc ut just looks better.

Something that I will really want to watch are tips while sewing spandex or what about the other kind of stiches(zigzag and the others?) Also tips for the legs of pants :)
@LTRLtrend5 жыл бұрын
Thanks again Ezequiel, spandex is a four way stretch material that needs a serger machine (which is a completely different machine). I can definitely do a segment on serger sewing for the future! Zigzag and other stiches are mostly used on domestic machines, I use an industrial, is there anything specific you would like to know about a zigzag?

@@LTRLtrend well I'm learning how to sew swimsuits, I use spandex and I'm trying your tips, I'm also using an standard sewing machine :) and I'm a beginner
@LTRLtrend5 жыл бұрын
@@cochorol wow Ezequiel, sewing Spandex (especially swimsuits) are an advanced project, but happy to hear you are going for it and using my tips! When you are sewing stretch fabric with a standard sewing machine you have to make sure you are stretching your fabric slightly and change your stitch to a very narrow zigzag (so narrow it almost looks like a straight stitch) to accommodate the stretch - if you don't stretch slightly or change your stitch your stitches could "pop" while wearing or if you happen to stretch the fabric over the body. Oh, also try changing your stitch length to about 3 or 4 when you are sewing the narrow (zigzag) "straight" stitch. One more tip: also it may help to use (clear silicone swimwear specific) elastic around the leg hems - zigzag on first and then hem by stretching fabric and zigzagging. Hope this helps- Happy sewing!

@@LTRLtrend hey so far so good, I have made two already but now I'm using the mock french seem and it's better than the last ones, also using a zigzag over everything, I bet it's not the usual but for me it's okay, thanks for the tips:)

Hello. It would be nice to know where to buy those humongous scissors you keep showing off in your videos. 😊
@ritaadler-everett53924 жыл бұрын
As an intermediate beginner, this was super helpful. It would have been more informative for me if you would also include when each of these seams work best (what parts of a garment) and for what kinds of fabric. Keep teaching!

Glad to hear this video was helpful for you. And yha ks for the suggestions, I will definitely need to do a follow-up video to address these. Thanks for watching! Happy sewing ♥️

I wish you explained when you’d use each seam, but great explainations! I’ve been sewing for a little over a year and I’ve had my sewing machine for a year and 5 days! I have lots of fabric for garments but just haven’t gotten to any of the projects. I’m cutting out pjs tomorrow and I’m so excited! I’ve learned a lot from your channel and I only found you today when I needed an explanation on grainlines. I wish you had a print out of that pattern piece you showed in the beginning of what direction to sew your seams. Thanks for the awesome explanations and I can’t wait to learn even more from you! ❤️🤗
@LTRLtrend3 жыл бұрын
You arw not thw first person to request this... and I totally need to do a vid on a more indepth explanations of seams and where to use. Grainlines are a bit of another topic and will for sure look into a vid for that as well. I have an online course in development, so stayed tuned with updates by adding me on insta - fee free to connect me there for more questions! Happy sewing on your pjs 😘

Thank you for the attempt. I do appreciate it. You keep up the good work. I like to know do you use knit or do you sew with knit? Knit fabric
@LTRLtrend4 жыл бұрын
Hi Jean, thanks for your comment. No, at the moment I am not sewing with knit, I like knit and have used it in the past with both a straight stitch machine and a serger and hope to get back to sewing with knits soon!
