Rachel thank you so much for this. Would you believe I have my machine for nearly 35 years and never knew that. I just thought it was another fancy stitch that I would never use. I really hope that you bring back your Tuesday tutorials as I loved them. So thank you and have a wonderful Christmas and new year 🎊 🎉

Rachel, thank you for doing this. I’ve never attempted a blind hem but you’ve made it look so easy! Di from Massachusetts ❤

I was aware you could do this but could never quite figure out how you actually do it. Thanks for making what looked to be very complicated so easy to follow. I've come back to sewing in the last couple of years after decades away but always used to hand sew my hems, and didn't mind it. Since my return I've gone with the modern way of just machining, but will love to give this a try.

I am so grateful! Thankyou! I have just bought a Tilly and the Buttons Make it Simple on back order. I really want to make the trousers and jumpsuit. I will be able use this technique on the hems. I could never understand how you would finish the hem or even arrange the fabric to do the blind hem. Your explanation is so clear.

Great explanation! The blind hem stitch has been around almost as long as the zigzag stitch. I have it on my 1957 Singer 401A.

I have used blind hems, especially on curtains and fabrics where I don't want any stitching to show. These days, I'm a bit lazy and tend to use my cover stitch machine more than a blind hem. Good tutorial.

I don't know why people think blind hems are tricky. Hardest part is setting up the zig zag width so it just barely catches in the fabric. Once you know your machines settings it's super quick. 😊😊
