Hi. Depends on what you mean as a beginner. This model is not very complicated. I always encourage you to try on some old fabric first, try sewing a collar, etc. You won't learn if you never try 😊

Honestly, I don't really understand your comment. Yes, it is wool, perfect fabric for coats, why wouldn't ladies wear it? 😅 And there is no such thing as women's and men's lining fabric. Or at least I hope so, but luckily I haven't grown a mustache from wearing this coat 😄
