Thanks for that, my mum is 91 years old and I think I will make some with her this afternoon to pass a bit of time. They look lovely.

They are so cute. I had a craft club for the kids at lunch recess at school and we made similar pumpkins, only we used a 6"circle of polar fleece. We gathered around the top of the pumpkin, stuffed it, and used a cinamon stick for the stem. We used thread to wrap from top to bottom and up through the center to make the ribs. Then the kids cut black felt to make faces and glued them on. Then in the winter we made snowball people the same way using white polar fleece and put the gathered part on the bottom. They made cute little beanie hats and scarves and sewed them o., and painted, drew, or cut and glued faces on them. Very cute.

Why does the pattern need to be cut on the bias? None of the other tutorials say to do this. I can get 2 pumpkins from a fat quarter. Your way wastes fabric. Just wondering
@SecretLifeOfASeamstress3 ай бұрын
Cutting on the bias allows the fabric to stretch and creates a plumper pumpkin. I find doing it this way gives the best result but of course you can cut on the straight grain if you prefer x
