You have such a beautiful skin color. ♥️ I love how your nails contrast the rest naturally. (Sorry, I am scandinavian all white ... like white and I envy healthy skin tones so much 😅🤷🏼♀️) The tutorial was great. Keep up the great work.

Hi can i use this same skirt pattern for stretch material is a stripe stretch fabric for a waist line dress
@SewUnique_ng Жыл бұрын
Hi There, the first half of your question is clear but the second half; I didn’t quite get it. To answer, Yes you could use this approach but consider the stretch ratio of the fabric

I have suggestion for gathering. You should always do 2 rows of stitching close to each other so that way if one thread breaks during gathering, you have another thread you can use. Also, it is a good idea once you have verified you have gathered enough that you tie the threads together at the end of the gathers so they don't move while you are adding the zip and he waistband.

Thanks Alison, I’m aware of that, it’s a very helpful tip but I’m also very good at manoeuvring one stitch. However, you’re absolutely right, & it’s a great tip ❤️🙏🏾

Can you plz tell how can I cut the lining can I cut the lining into a half circular skirt and the stripe material like u made the skirt pattern in a rectangle
@SewUnique_ng Жыл бұрын
It’s up to you, you can make both rectangular and gather or you can cut the lining in to a circle. Whatever floats your boat 🙏🏾❤️

But which is it better to cut the lining because the main material is stretchy
@SewUnique_ng Жыл бұрын
@@ghairunisababa1413 I normally won’t gather stretchy fabric … I’ll advice a circle skirt for that. But also the stretch ratio matters. It’s impossible to give a specific answer without knowing details

@@SewUnique_ng I wanted to make a half circle skirt but because of the grainline the stripe is on the cross line what I mean is the line that goes down is on the straight line across if I can send you the pictures if the fabric hw can i contact you

Do we have to fold the upper part while sewing the cloth before we gather ?

I’m not sure I understand your question. Do you want mind rephrasing 🙏🏾❤️

I wish you had used a contrasting colour thread, since you are demonstrating how to make the skirt, it would have been easier on the eyes.
@SewUnique_ng2 жыл бұрын
I’m sorry you feel that way but That’s not practical for outfits that will be worn. If it was my private sewing class, I factor in cost of materials and can afford to do that’s so the students see. However, most of the things I make on here, are for myself of people. I can’t use a contrasting thread. Feel free to sign up for private classes ❤️

How can we tell the fabric require please ?
@SewUnique_ng2 жыл бұрын
Hiya! It’s usually the waist measurement multiplied by 3 and some extra. Please note that the extra might differ and this advice doesn’t work for everyone ❤️ P.S: apologies for the tardy response 🙏🏾💕

8 inch mark she made is the section she leaves open for the zipper. She will sew the seam closed from the eight inch mark down to the hem.
