It is finally done. Here is my historically accurate Nezuko cosplay. It took me months to research all the pieces that make a kimono and sew them all by hand. Here is how I made her kimono and her haori using traditional Japanese techniques.

I'm always so blown away by the dedication and work you put into each project! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and patterns. I just recently finished making your Yor pattern and I'm so happy with the result. It was my first time making clothing and I couldn't have done it without your video and pattern!

Hello I am about to purchase this pattern however I wanted to know about how many yards or meters of fabric will i need to make the large size
@AliceinCosplayland
@AliceinCosplayland 10 ай бұрын
It also depends on the width of your fabric, height and length of your sleeves so I can't give you exact measurements right now. All the calculations are in the pattern. I would estimate a minimum of 4 meters

Hi, i recently started a project with this pattern but what im struggling to understand is the stitching lines around the collar on the base pattern... im not quite sure what they mean.. do i just sew along those lines? If so what do i do with the excess? Do i just cut it? I tried looking at the instructions but im not the best at reading verbal instructions because of my dyslexia and so im sorry i had to bother you with a comment
@AliceinCosplayland
@AliceinCosplayland Жыл бұрын
First of all, it is no bother at all! I am here to help. About the kimono. The stitching lines are literally where you stitch the collar. You need to align the stitch line of your collar to the stitch line of the front panels. The excess fabric you can either fold (traditional way) or cut away the excess. I think you can see it in this video and again on my kimono underwear video ☺️ Also, if you ever need help I reply must faster through Etsy 😁

Hola,compré el patrón pero me cuesta mucho entenderlo No entiendo dónde debo cortar y qué piezas son ,disculpa Necesito ayuda
@AliceinCosplayland
@AliceinCosplayland 11 ай бұрын

hi! i would like to ask you something about your etsy pattern for the haori.... i have a big question i can't make a test for this time but my boyfriend have a yuki longer than the large one on your pattern so what's the part that i have to correct to have the right final mesurment? because is not just like 2 or 3 cm it's more than something like 15cm (he is 185 cm for something like 100kg his yuki is 83 cm.... big teddy ^^
@AliceinCosplayland
@AliceinCosplayland Жыл бұрын
Hi, I would personally widen each piece about 4cm (4x4 =16cm). This is if you want to make sure the sleeves aren't too short for him when he wears it. Just check the width of your fabric to make sure the patterns still fit. The haori does not have an okumi and it isn't the same pattern as the kimono. It is safer to check the Yuki if he already has a kimono, the kimono without the okumi will give you the hip measurement, however, if you see the instructions, they won't necessarily match the Yuki (Easier to ask through Etsy next time 😅)

I am very confused on how to cut out the back and front, I saw in your suggestion when cutting out the fabric from your pattern and I’m still very confused on weather the front pieces and the back pieces stay together or if they get cut separately and sewn together
@AliceinCosplayland
@AliceinCosplayland 2 ай бұрын
The front and the back are one very long piece! No seam on the shoulders. However, what I did do differently is to keep the back panels in one piece instead of two. It saves a tiny bit of sewing time
@backyardiagains
@backyardiagains 2 ай бұрын
@@AliceinCosplaylandI also wanted to ask, would it be okay for me to be able to take your pattern and transfer it to a long piece of pattern paper for the front and back panels to have one long pattern? I wanted to ask because I am making a progress video and will be posting it to social media and full credits will be in the video, I just wanted to ask before I make my video

how many running metres of fabric did u use for the kimono?:)

is 3 yards of fabric enough for L size ??
@AliceinCosplayland
@AliceinCosplayland 2 ай бұрын
I'm afraid that would be a bit short. It depends on your height, not your size, but I recommend at least 4 meters of fabric to be sure. It really depends on several other factors, there are detailed measurements in the instructions.

@sun_daes 2 ай бұрын
thank you!! i also have the question for the back of the kimono, do i start 3mm from the folded edge and sew until the bottom or do i have to cut it and sew them together? i kept watching the video to understand a bit better but i’m left a little confused.
@AliceinCosplayland
@AliceinCosplayland 2 ай бұрын
@@sun_daes I didn't cut the back to go quicker, you will be better cutting the panels and sewing them as explained in the instructions 😁
