Well done video. The subtitles, with hints such as "sleeve side down" are very helpful. Thank you for showing us primitive people without a serger how to get good results.

Oh my goodness, your sewing tutorials are flawless. Such a pleasant surprise from all these unintelligible ones on youtube!

We have a Baby Lock Imagine. It is the best serger we ever had. Easy to thread, tension is always right. It is a bit more expensive than the average serger, but worth every penny.

Loved the music!!! I especially loved the humor of the beating heart while matching up the V-neck! LOL! Great video with very clear instructions. I'm excited to take on a knit v-neck now. Thanks!

I, too, enjoyed your video -- especially the nervous heartbeat as the "V" was being lined up. I'm in my late 50s and now taking up sewing. I bought a used beginner's sewing machine (Janome 7306) and a new serger (Brother 1034D), and several of your patterns (men's trunks, V-neck t-shirt, and the Polo Shirt) as a "starting point" on my adventure. I really appreciate you putting together clear, concise videos such as this one, so people like myself with no prior experience can repeatedly watch them until we have the confidence to attempt them. Thanks again!

this video was SO helpful for me!!! I was making my daughter age 6 a pj shirt that had a v neck and the instructions with the pattern were horrible. I am a fairly novice sewer and it was supposed to be easy. I was about to give up until I found this video ... and thanks to you the shirt turned out GREAT!! Thank you for sharing this!! :)

These videos are great. They make it look so achievable and encouraging. (also the music is very relaxing, which is good when I'm stressing out because I cut my sleeve 'inside out')

We use the serger or straight stitch + zigzag stitch on the regular sewing machine - without stretching the fabric.

You made this 2 whole years ago, but I just found it now.. Your neckline lays so beautifully. I have ripped out necklines over, and over and over till I thought the fabric would become rag. So frustrating for me with those stretch knits. I watched you like a hawk! I too use a serger to finish it looks good that way. Do you think any self fabric in the shoulders is helpful too, or is just plain old reinforcement best as you did? Thanks for the helpful video!

look's cool but i'm a very beginner sewer and could not follow along because i am such a novice.. maybe in a few months! very wonderful tutorial.. also since i don't have a clue about sewing and i've only made a pillow and an attempted quilt, what is the purpose for different stitches?

So far I have stitched only 1 shirt and the hardest things are the collar and the area under arm pits. I purchased a t-shirt and when I try to alter its size the stitching won't come smooth and the t-shirt cloth won't align or looks out of shape. I tried adjusting thread tension, bobbin screw but can able to figure out what's wrong. I have Singer 8280 machine. Is it made for t-shirts ?

did you sew the right side of the band to the wrong side of the shirt? if yes, did you sew it on the wrong side or right side if the shirt? thanks
@jaliepatterns7 жыл бұрын
The band is folded so both sides are "right sides". We sew it to the right side of the neckline.

Can I sew the neckband using a serger ? in the video, it is sewn with a sewing machine only.
@jaliepatterns7 жыл бұрын
You can attach it to the neckline with a serger of course. We always prefer basting with a zigzag first since it is easier to pick if we make a mistake.
