I recently made covers for my sleeve board and table top ironing board. I used bias tape like you did, but, instead of elastic I used string. So far it has worked out very well.

I've been wanting to make a small portable ironing board out of a wooden TV tray. All other tutorials have you staple it to the underside and I wanted to make a removable one. This helps a lot! 👍🏻

So helpful! Thank you so much! I wasn’t sure if I’d find a tutorial that used a casing for the elastic! My serger pooped on me and is at the dealer so I had to find a different way to do it and this was it; bias tape casing for the elastic! Thank you so much! So helpful!

The tricky part is sewing the smaller radius at the end. Good stuff.

This is an excellent tutorial, thank you so much because I have a very little ironing board for sleeves and it needs a new cover!

I've never thought to use bias tape as a casing for elastic, that's great!

I am going to try this using 100% cotton aluminized utility fabric. I got when JoAnn’s moved in our town. They sold everything before closing the old location I got this bolt I wonder if I should use two layers? The foam under my old one has always been a problem.

The crisscrossed pins indicate stitching start and stop points, leaving a gap for elastic insertion.

Would it not be easier to sew the elastic on to the cover directly?

Love the vid! Great instructions! Is there a purpose of crisscrossing the straight pins when pinning the binding to the back?
@ProfessorPincushion8 жыл бұрын
the pins that look like an "X" is the starting and stopping point when you're stitching so you can have a point to put in the elastic.
