Great tutorial, thank you! I especially appreciated your tips on attaching the front of the neckband. I have sewn a similar pattern for many years, and have never been able to get the front points and curve just right!

Amy - I have made the footed PJs and the Lullaby Line Snap PJs several times and it never occurred to me to sew with the gusset down! So glad I watched the video!

I recently made the shorts version of this pattern and really struggled with the gusset. I don’t know if using a lightweight rayon blend may have made it more difficult, but luckily I managed to get it okay eventually. For some reason I didn’t realise there was a video until I saw the reviews for the pattern on the website. I know the link is right there in the pattern but I guess I missed it somehow. But this video really helps the pattern make more sense to me. I didn’t even think to sew it with the gusset on the bottom. I wasn’t going to sew a second one since I struggled so much, but now I’m actually considering it. So the video really adds a lot of value to the pattern for me. Thank you so much for that. I really appreciate the work you’re doing.

Footie pajamas are so cute because they are all in one piece and have permanently attached feet. Children might wear this!

I am attempting to make my grand daughter a footy pj. Your directions are excellent to follow. I do have one questions though, did the pattern you used have the gusset piece or did you make it yourself. My patter does not have a gusset but I really like the idea of putting one in for comfort. It looks like your gusset is simply a square but what size if it? Maybe 3"?? Thank you

Can you extend the zipper cover and fold over to protect the neck?

I am looking for a pattern that has the zipper more towards the front of the leg rather than on the inseam. Do you have such a pattern? Footed pajamas that I buy have the zipper an inch away from the inseam. I want to make some in cotton fleece.

What pattern did you use? I am making this style pajamas for my grandson and there is no gusset and the zipper is sewn in after the front and back are sewn and the sleeves are sewn at the underarms. Also, my pattern is designed with a zipper that just goes down a little past the waist. It doesn't go down the leg. My pattern is Simplicity 9853. This seems like a better constructed pattern and the order of construction makes more sense. I'm using flannel.

Hi! I have a special needs son. How can I sew the zipper in the back? I usually buy pajamas at the store. I cut off the feet. And he wears it backwards. But soon he won't be able to fit store sizes. He's incontinent. And he needs at least 20 pajamas per year. I'm familiar with sewing. But not an expert. Special needs pajamas are so expensive. Thank you for your time. I'm buying your pattern tonight!

Hey! Saw your comment & recently made a sleeper with the zipper in the back. I followed this tutorial, but I switched the pieces that were supposed to be the front & put them in the back for the zipper. I hope that makes sense.

First time making this and it wasn’t clear enough on how to sew in the crotch when the zipper is attached. Also when u sewed in the crotch before u sew in the zipper next time show that step also. I had a heck of time trying to figure it out.

I think the point was to show the harder parts, sewing the gusset, zipper and such. If you have the pattern tit will show you every step. And you can always ask in the FB group

Most fabric stores have the gripper fabric in precut packages. I'm sure there's many online stores as well. I found it at Joann Fabrics.

@@beckycordell7038 Yes! Seeing it at JoAnn's is what made me willing to try this. Also, cannot find affordable footed pajamas beyond 24 mos.
