Thank you for the video. I was having problems with the written instructions. How can I make the cuffs into little pull over mitts?
@Jessalli5 жыл бұрын
Hmmm you'll need to add a little semi circular mitten to the cuff. Maybe one day I can do a tutorial on it. In the meantime, I'm sure someone's done a blog post for a similar method? x

Sophie your friend is very lucky to have you to make these wonderful items for her little one. I don't know how long it actually takes you to make one but they are absolutely adorable. Have you made them is solid colors or prints as well? Happy New Year, see you next week.

Hi Angela, Thank you so much. It only takes roughly a couple hours start to finish. I've made other baby items in different colours. But so far both coveralls have been in white. Will be making more though. :) Happy New Year! x

Hello, I’m am very new to sewing and was wondering if you have any advice on buying an overlocker? Which should I buy and how much to spend. I don’t have a lot of space so something not too big would be better. I’ve looked on eBay and saw some by sewland not sure if you have any experience with them. Love your videos, they are really helping me to gather the courage to work with jersey.

Hi Stephanie, Thank you so much! I only have experience with Janome overlockers and I would never buy anything else. They're easy to use, great value for money and user friendly. They do a few different ones, personally I have the 6234XL and it's brilliant. Obviously there are cheaper ones, so don't spend money on it if you won't get the use. I use mine everyday. :) x

JessalliHandmade thank you for the advice, I will look out for the machine you mentioned. An over locker seems so much easierr when sewing stretch fabrics.

Thanks for watching! This particular white cotton jersey was from Minerva Crafts but I buy a lot of baby jerseys from myfabrics.co.uk too. :) xx

Brilliant tutorial and just what I needed. Do you know the name of the silver circle snaps that you use . I have the snaps that come with the Vario pliers but not those ones. Would like to know what they are, as I think for a baby grow it looks like they sit a bit flatter and may be more comfortable for the baby. I always love your tutorials as they are always so clear and detailed 👍😘
@Jessalli7 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Sally. I always use Prym Jersey press fasteners. And yes they are flatter. Thanks for watching! :) x

Thank you for tutorial! What is the snap machine you are using? Do you recommend it?
@Jessalli7 жыл бұрын
Hi Rob. Thanks for watching. I basically just have the cheap plastic snap holder that comes with some packets of snaps. And I have a soft hammer to use with it. You can buy some nice snap clamps so you don't need a hammer, but I've never thought about getting one - although it would be a lot quieter to do! Haha. :)

Lovely onesie, would have loved to see overlock the tricky bits, as that’s what most of us struggle with

Oh overlocking tiny pieces is so annoying, but you would have just seen me do it really slowly haha. x

So I’m a bit confused how long and wide are you supposed to cut the interfacing?
@Jessalli4 жыл бұрын
Hi! If you have the pattern, it'll tell you how much binding to cut for each size. x
@akeilabriana86594 жыл бұрын
@@Jessalli I have the pattern maybe I missed it but I did not see anywhere about the length to cut the binding I believe just the width I’ll have to go back and double check.

@@Jessalli ok I found the instructions for the length and width of the binding thanks!

Hi Erin, When ever I sew using the overlocker, you just sew on your machine with a zig zag stitch. :) x

I love sewing for children. There aren't the fitting issues and mistakes disappear due to the small size of the garment. FYI when children begin to crawl, don't make them dresses, they need freedom of movement foremost.
