Sewing (or re-sewing) a button onto a shirt seems like a no-brainer. However, your method makes both sides of the garment come out beautifully and the end result looks very professional. Thank you for this very helpful tutorial! 😊 Love your videos! So glad I found your YT channel!!!

Sometimes, to give me consistent slack for the thread shank, I lay a thin toothpick across the FRONT TOP surface of the button as a spacer. After I sew OVER the toothpick and through the holes, I slide the toothpick out and wrap the shank. 😊

I didn't know there was a professional way of setting on a button. This looks so much better than how I have been previously sewing mine on! It looks so neat. I will definitely be using this technique. ❤

Thank you so much for this. I've always struggled to sew buttons on neatly in the past. I've just been sewing on buttons to finish a blouse I made and they look so much better!

Thank youuuuu that's exactly what I needed! Sometimes the reason why something looks dated or doesn't look right with anything is silly little details like buttons! Can't wait to refresh my wardrobe! You are a gem ❤

What weight thread is best to use?
@mariannebecker5132 Жыл бұрын
Anastasia, please correct me if these are bad habits: I put both ends of the thread through my needle, and end up with four threads; then, I don’t have to go in and out of the button hole as many times. I also finish sewing on my buttons with a dab of Fray Check so it will glue the threads in place, and the button will never come off. (I know, never say never). Thanks 🙂

I guess u can do 4 threads. I don’t see why not. 🎀🥳
