How to easily sew on a button using your sewing machine. Hate hand-sewing? Me too! Now I can pretty much avoid it altogether and make the buttons neater and stronger too. I'll show you how to easily and quickly sew on a button using your sewing machine, even if you don't have the fancy button foot.

This will be such a huge time saver for me. I've been hand sewing buttons for my cup coozies and they take SO MUCH TIME. Thank you so much for this tutorial!!

I had open heart surgery seve ral months ago followed by a stroke which left my legs crippled and limited use of my hands. Am finally able to sew but quilting is out of the question. So is knotting for comforters. Long arm quilting is too expensive for all the tops I piece but then I remembered a twin quilt i made many years ago putting the three layers together using buttons. PROBLEM SOLVED. I am on way to creating again. Thank you for the tutorial. I had forgooten how to do the buttons.

God bless you. You have been through some traumatic events!Whenever I hear a story like yours. It really puts my issues into perspective and makes them look silly. You sound like a really positive and strong person. I'll say a prayer for you to regain all your functions. Your story really touched me. You sound like an incredible person. Continue staying strong and positive!

I'm a guy and need to learn how to sew my own clothes when the cheap buttons break or a seam rips, and I'll be damned if I know how to use a needle and thread,. However, I am comfortable around machinery and I have an easier time figuring out a machine, so the sewing machine method is what is helping me (albeit my machine is much older and I have no idea how half of the functions work yet).

I don't have the same machine as her so it wouldn't do me any good anyway, but she showed that you just need to set the feed dogs to 0 and stitch width to whatever the distance is from the center of the holes. BTW you can measure that distance accurately by measuring from one edge of a hole to the same edge of the other hole, so you don't have to eyeball the center
