You made this seem not so scary. I just got the Brother CS7000X, well I got it a couple weeks ago but I just opened the box. My whole life before I've been sewing with a machine my mom bought used in 1950. I'm 65. It's not so complicated and scary! :D It's a great machine, but I have to take it to a repair shop. It only goes in forward and reverse though, so now I'm trying something new. I appreciate how calm you are, and you have a very gentle, kind voice, and your camera shots are wonderful! I feel much better after watching this, I should be okay. Thank you so much.

This is a great sewing machine. I must have about a 100,00 miles on mine, lol, since I purchased it for $124 in 2016. Its tough enough to sew through blue jeans, 2-3 layers. I highly recommend it. I make dolls for the shoe box ministry with Samaritians Purse, and there are 2 stitches that I use for the face, the eye brows, and they eyes, which save me so much time, on these handmade dolls. It is still performing at peak. Thank you, Lord for my sewing machine.

I have a couple of questions about backstitching, if you dont mind helping (complete beginner here): Does it matter if you use the foot pedal at the same time as you push the reverse button vs if you use the button alone without the pedal? I don't want to mess up my machine or my finished product. I'm not sure if it makes a difference either way. Also, when you did your example of backstitching, it looks like you sewed past the fabric and then backstitched back onto it again. Will the seam stay put after trimming the extra thread off as long as the backstitching overlaps the seam? Thank you for the video. You're a good teacher!
@yemiolawale7 ай бұрын
Hello, thank you for watching and the compliment 🙏 For your first question, if you are sewing with the pedal plugged in, use the pedal, hold your backstitch button while you use it- I mostly sew with the pedal on, for easier control and also, my hands are free to manipulate or direct the fabric. second question, I usually sew past so it's easy for me to trim and cut. it usually happens when I remember to backstitch a little late or the stitch isn't too long, like in the video. As long as the new stitch overlaps the old one, it should be fine.

Thanks for sharing this. I've never used a sewing machine before. Ordered a Brother cs7000i. Did you say that bobbin thread is a different type from the thread on top of the machine?

Generally, you use the same type of thread for the bobbin and the top except you are trying to sew something different.

@yemiolawale3 жыл бұрын
Please don't,
@yemiolawale3 жыл бұрын
If you want to service it, take it to the repair shop, all you need to do is clean the dust where the bobbin is, when it gets dirty, no oiling
@RaJay-yj9fz3 күн бұрын
The thread keeps bundle up underneath the fabric how do i get reed of that
@yemiolawale3 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching. For the thread issue, it usually happens when either the top or bottom thread is too loose or too tight. By top, I mean the thread coming from the spool and for bottom, the thread on the bobbin. You have to check either to see which one of them is causing it. If you use the machine to thread the bobbin, the issue is less likely to occur

The metal pin for larger spools of thread actually moves up and down depending on the size of your spool. Just pull up on it. No need to set the large spool on the table to thread the bobbin.
@yemiolawale3 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. Mine can only go so far up when you pull, maybe newer models have longer pins.

When you cut the thread after sewing, what do you need to do to reset the machine to sew again? I see the long thread is hanging out. Do you just continue on with your next piece? nice video by the way!
@yemiolawale3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I continue with my next piece...I leave the enough thread hanging out so I don't have to thread again when I attempt to sew again(sometimes it escapes from the needle hole when you turn the hand wheel). Thank you for watching

I’m having a problem while using the walking foot. If I speed up a small amount the stitch length becomes incredibly small. Why would that happen?
@yemiolawale3 жыл бұрын
I would be honest, I have not used my walking foot yet...but I would check my stitch settings as well as my upper thread..just incase something is holding it or preventing it from moving smoothly (this happens with my other regular sewing feet), other times, just removing the foot and putting it back will do...let me know if this helps...I will try doing a video on walking foot soon
