The top came out just like it should with a nice facing and bottom hem but unfortunately the fit was terrible on me. 😢. I'm so disappointed since I had such high hopes for this pattern. I have read so many great reviews of the Ashton top. I might try out another toile later on, when I have overcome my disappointment in my make, perhaps in the D-cup range. I am a C-cup and I made the pattern in a B-cup size 14.

I'm learning garment sewing with knits, but have not tried woven yet, so this may be a good one to try with some linen or eyelet fabric I've been holding on to. This is a great tutorial! Thank You! I purchased the pattern with your affiliate link. Did you choose a heavier fabric for the facing on purpose? Is it to give the quilter's cotton weight shirt more stiffness or body to lift away from your body?

Thank you so much, Julie! It isn’t an affiliate link, but, I appreciate your support! The denim I used for the facing is pretty lightweight. Although, if a slightly heavier weight fabric was used, it would add some stiffness. You probably don’t want your facing to be too stiff/bulky around the neckline!
