Thank you for your wonderful slipcover instructions! I gained the confidence to sew a sofa slipcover and am ready to topstitch the seams but am unable to find your video instructions for that part. You’re welcome Julie. I think I cover top stitching a little bit in my “how to sew the body” vid. I think , I’ll let you know. I don’t always serge my seams. Kinda depends upon the fabric. Top stitching will help the fabric not fray all the way to the center seams but it’ll still fray. If you think you’ll need to wash your slip frequently then you may want to serge. Thanks for the comment

@@MimzyandCompany Thanks so much! I used a 12 oz blue denim for my slipcover & it will not have to be washed frequently. I still may go ahead & serge most of the seams. @MimzyandCompany
@MimzyandCompany 3 жыл бұрын
I can cut and pin a sofa in about 2.5 hours, then sewing the body takes about 2 hours, and the cushions(depending upon how many cushions) take about an hour a piece(including cutting the cushions pieces and making welt). I try to do everything assembly line style...I make the welt for everything at once, and cut out all my cushions at once, make all the zipper plackets at once, etc.. This method really speeds up the whole process. Single tasking speeds up the process.
@lisao3041
@lisao3041 2 жыл бұрын
@@MimzyandCompany, assembly line is best once you get the hang. I found it helpful to cut fabric for only ONE and make it start to finish to see how the whole process goes and adjust for the next ones if I did the first one incorrectly.
