I break down how Marc Rebillet constructs a trap hip hop beat using his video "how to shake an ass in under 2 minutes" Let me know what songs you'd like me to show you how to loop next!

Great breakdown. Cool to see someone dive into Marc's music like this. I know a lot of people that brush off his music because he's goofy. His talent is undeniable and he's a true master of looping and his gear in general. To your point about tempo/feel, I love it when Marc is patient and makes sure what he lays down is pristine. You can tell he just knows when its right. Bravo to you sir. Really enjoyed this.

Thanks Jack! Excellent points! I agree, there are times when he won't get it perfectly but still works to get it there and it makes a huge difference. When you got a loop that's slightly off and is playing like that over and over, the audience is gonna notice and it's gonna be awkward, it's better to just really make sure u nail it to avoid a crappy song.

Thanks Bro. I played guitar for a long time and a little piano, but always stoped because i get frustrated rly fast, because ether its to simple or to hard. Marc sparked my music intrest again after about 3 years. always was into looping and i need exactly your video to understand more from marcs Music. keep it up :D Edit: Maybe a video idea, can you make a video about which chords he uses often when playing without a loop. Sometimes hes just Jaming and makes rly nice flowing piano. maybe there is a patern to it, idk :] would be awesome

Cool.thanks for this. I saw Marc last night at Manchester Apollo ~ it was very wild! The sub bass was so powerful it was vibrating my whole body it’s impossible to describe fully. At the end he did an encore … every one wanted two songs I’d love you to teach us … if possible show us the notes on the keyboard please. That’s Girls club… particularly show us the notes for the funky base. I know he used a Rickenbacker bass. Explaining how funk base lines work in general would be epic Please!!! The other song they loved he did was Pink Flamingo. Thanks again. I got the equipment so excited to learn how!

@@SammySideFX I was sitting on the couch with my son thinking the same thing after his bike ride. I like watching you break down styles but I was afraid to ask. But def take your time and don't rush yourself. Get to it when you can.

hey my man, i'm a looper just like you. Was looking for some inspiration and you delivered! At the moment I'm trying to expand my gear with a keyboard up to 300 bucks (2nd hand) - until now, I just use the ipad for keys. If you want to check out some of my tracks, "imperial space battle doctrine" and "obey" are dope. Cheers!

Right on! There's some great 300 used keyboards out there with some decent sounds if you're trying to go outboard, I'll give you a sub!

@@SammySideFX thanks Sammy I appreciate it, I’m not from a musical background but I do love music and have always been able to beat box and create random short musical pieces. I have a question- The melody or Rhythm, can you make a tutorial on how to make a few different ones? I can make a beat and now thanks to your video I’ll add more to it to make it sound more dynamic using percussion but I struggle when using a keyboard to make the melody like you and Marc do it seems to be so easy and looks like whatever keys you press seem to make a catchy melody. Thanks mate, I can see this channel blowing up soon.

I also wonder how he is able to come up with so many chord progressions, Melodie’s and bass lines all the time
@SammySideFX

So, he's varied but it's not like he doesn't repeat a bunch of similar ideas. He's got go to melodies and rhythms that he does that he'll change a bit. But he really can come up with quite a lot of stuff, but he's not a god lol

@@SammySideFX Yeah you are right I often hear the same kind of chord progressions and melodies in different keys. he's also using a lot of blues scales to make solos. I really wanna learn how to make those funky baselines. maybe you can make more videos I really like how you explain that stuff :)
