ok, last one, lol sorry to blow you up, I'm writing this as I watch it. Would love to see how you do your sheaths... everytime I make one, it's suuuuuper hard to get out. I wrap it with tape 5 times while it forms and trim certain spots afterwards and it'll help but still would love to learn more. Thanks again for sharing and I like the straight forward videos. You don't need 30 angles and quick edits to be successful, just be you. Enjoying everything so far, keep up the good work!

Would love to see a video on finishing the blade, how you got the finish on it, and a separate one on tools etc, like what do you use to put the jimping on the back of the handle? tool recommendations etc. You could probably imbed affiliate links and get money in your pocket for doing so.

Great work 😊. I don't have a great belt sander so I do most of my high speed work with an angle grinder. I've found that 40-80 grit sanding flap discs and medium to fine metal conditioning flap discs work well shaping micarta and bringing both the knife spine & handle to a reasonable finish before finishing things up by hand. The dremel sanding drums are great I agree 🤙. That G-Flex epoxy is worth it; you had that drip--I've had luck cleaning away the excess with acetone which you probably did but just had some more squeeze out. It's not a bad finish actually (G-Flex thinned out w/ acetone), a wet look, and I've thought about using some leftover epoxy to finish some scales I'm working on, just have to stagger knives in different stages of completion. I appreciate you sharing your techniques in these videos.

Nice vid, knives, and beanie. Subscribed. I like that exposed gimping on the top back of that first blade. Might have to incorporate something like that in one of my future designs. Curious what kind of oil you use on your handles to finish them after buffing? I've been using simple finish for a bit and it works pretty well but doesn't bring out the richness quite as much as I'd like on composite materials like Micarta and G10. Red Label has become my go to for belts on my 1x42 Kalamazoo as well as for my oscillating machine. They are excellent.

I have noticed that you do a stone wash on most your blades that I have seen, you lose that finish on the spine and handle areas after handle fit and finish, do you just leave a sanded silver finish or is there a way to get the stone wash finish back on the spine and handle area?

@@gentrycustomknives8008 that’s what I do as well figured but thought I would see if there was another method, I have also shaped with the scales pinned and blue tape super glued in place then take it apart re stone wash and then do final glue up but definitely more work, makes the finish on the blade and tang consistent but is quite a bit more time consuming.

hi sr, i whish to ask about the advantages of a micarta handle vs g10 or aluminum or wooden handles, my question is if micarta its primarelly abou the colours or about the texture this material gives, in other words, i personally like micarta becouse of the colours u can get, but if it have no other benefit i will just paint my folding knife handles hehe, thank you very much fot share this video tutorial

I don't have nice equipment like you, just a dremel and miter saw lol. So when I eas shaping the dama canvas, it was eating up my sanding wheels. I ended up using a carbide bit. Just glued and set the pins yes.
