Can anyone confirm if this is easier to use and works better than Audiomovers? Especially from a recording client's standpoint who might not be so tech savvy, i'm curious which service (waves vs audiomovers) would be better to use with clients for remote vocal tracking? 🤔
@einsam5149 ай бұрын
Reminds me a bit of Cubase Transit, which is discontinued. Never actually tried it, but I think it makes it possible to record session musicians, vocals etc. remotely in realtime. But Waves Stream works across many DAWs.

@@waves Is it true that with the Mercury Bundle you get a perpetual license for Waves Stream?
@mistervid9 ай бұрын
@@IMCIDR No, Mercury Bundle owners will not get a perpetual license, because Waves Stream is only available as a subscription. However: When you own Mercury *and* have an active Waves Update Plan (WUP), you will get access to Waves Stream at no extra cost. If WUP expires and is not renewed, then the access will expire. To say it differently, when you buy WUP for Mercury, a subscription subscription for Waves Stream is included as long as WUP runs.

@@IMCIDR You do have to have an active WUP as per getting the second license for Mercury, which is where the WAES Stream license is tied. (So no, it’s not perpetual) Fair enough, as in this case, it’s not just a sell it to the consumer and let them sort it. Do listeners need to subscribe too? In the daw listen plug or in the web listen interface?
@mistervid9 ай бұрын
If the listener wants to use Waves Stream inside the DAW, then he/she will need to purchase a subscription in order to use the Receive Plugin. On the other hand, everyone can listen to your stream with a browser on basically any device without any costs. So if the listener uses the browser, no subscription is required.

Oh, the subscription argument again ... How do you think Sender and Receiver connect without a massive server infrastructure in the cloud? Through thin air with invisible cables? Please, if you have the means to build a worldwide server infrastructure capable of handling tens of thousands of streams in realtime while also connecting the systems, for FREE then just do it and offer this service for a one time fee of 10$. I am sure everyone will be onboard and you will be broke before you even sold 1 item. Why do you think Amazon is thinning out its Alexa team? Because the costs of maintaining the infrastructure is way too high without any recurring fees - which is by the way a reason why Amazon has shut down their Echo Connect service worldwide and moved emergency calling to a subscription model.

2 BIG negatives on this plugin, 1- you can only stream to 1 person at a time, i need to stream this to 2 or 3 people at same time, as my client has multiple employees who'd like to listen and collaborate 2- the mic is only 1 way, only sender can talk to receiver, the receiver has to be on telephone, or another app to talk to sender, (Assuming receiver does not have a DAW) add these 2 much needed features, and i'm sold, till then, i can't get onboard

Why the hell are you marketing it as a tool to check mixes out of the studio when it indeed filters audio badly. There is a step Hi Pass filter at about 90Hz in the stream. What the hell are you doing? Is it even how it's supposed to work. Or just some bug?
