Brilliant video!! Natural abrasive polishing compound, duh (I say to self wishing I had thought of it!). I love these short but rich content videos that this channel posts. This channel really deserves more credit then it is getting.

I believe in stroping regularly instead of waiting for chips to break out the stones / rods. Here is a DIY field strop, great tip, thanks John!

we did this with our Gerber multitool in the field sometimes while serving in the Army. It truly does make a difference.

great tip, love useful, user friendly fixes. I only got into stropping my blades recently and wonder why I wasn't doing it all along. the clay based mud is brilliant. ty for this useful info.

I love Paracord and I love knives. never leave the house without either. Brilliant mate, I figured using a leather belt; but out in the wilderness, when one isn't available, absolutely Brilliant!

I learnt this many years ago; the paracord acts like a whetstone, and it works very well indeed. I'm new to this channel and very pleased I found it. Best wishes from Wendi UK 🌻

tie between 2, one side like shown, second with bowline around but 2 inches big, use short stout stick in loops to winndlass tension the line, then medium tension to load grit, then twisting tight to strop blade with one hand free Really dig your vids. Thanks for sharing things you've found it's how knowledge gets around and you do mellow well

Thanks John, another great tip. Everyone has Paracord on them and can make mud. Also I wanted to let you know I watched your Paracord zipper pull video a couple of years ago and have made hundreds of them in various sizes and colors for everything that has a zipper. Thank you for sharing your tips and knowledge.

Looks sharp! Never saw paracord being used to sharpen a blade. It's similar to taking your belt, wrapping it around a thin tree, slap on some mud, and go to town in the same way.

One I've used for decades...roll the car or truck window about half way down and use the rough top edge of the window as a stone. Works every time.

Yet ANOTHER use for paracord! Is there anything it cannot do? GREAT video! Also - for that bag-o-tricks - the "frosted" edge of your car window, you know - the part that has the 'ground-edge' so it doesn't cut you,..... has just enough 'grit' to it to put a nice edge back on a knife as well. The bottom of an everyday coffee mug has this same "grit" in it as well. A few strokes and,........ back in business!
